rps Posted July 11, 2016 Posted July 11, 2016 I fished from 7 to 1 today. Water temps 82 to 84. Visibility from 4 to 6 feet. I hooked and lost at the boat a probable keeper walleye at 21 feet at 7:15 am on a flat edge with brush. I eventually caught a spotted bass over three pounds. Not my best day. (Needs music.) Quillback Posted July 11, 2016 Posted July 11, 2016 Well, that's a big spotted bass. Sounds like water temps have cooled own a bit since I was last there.
rps Posted July 11, 2016 Author Posted July 11, 2016 They have. Maybe that is connected to my lack of success?
Quillback Posted July 11, 2016 Posted July 11, 2016 You would think it might help, but I confess to knowing zilch about walleye behavior.

Muddy Water Posted July 12, 2016 Posted July 12, 2016 No such thing as a bad day of fishing; it's just that some days are better than others! Hammer time and Champ188 2

Quillback Posted July 12, 2016 Posted July 12, 2016 Looks like they have been running water the last few days and the lake has dropped 6" or so. I would also think that would be a positive as far as the bite, but maybe not. Muddy Water 1
Ham Posted July 12, 2016 Posted July 12, 2016 Do the fish react to them running water thru the dam. ie does it move enough water that they position to take advantage of it? I always know what they are doing with the water IF I'm going to be fishing the tailwaters, but I've never given it much thought if I am on the lake.
