I fished from 7 to 1 today. Water temps 82 to 84. Visibility from 4 to 6 feet.

I hooked and lost at the boat a probable keeper walleye at 21 feet at 7:15 am on a flat edge with brush. I eventually caught a spotted bass over three pounds.

Not my best day. (Needs music.)

They have. Maybe that is connected to my lack of success?

No such thing as a bad day of fishing; it's just that some days are better than others!

X2

..and you did have a hook in your target species...they don't all end up in the boat.

Looks like they have been running water the last few days and the lake has dropped 6" or so.  I would also think that would be a positive as far as the bite, but maybe not.

Do the fish react to them running water thru the dam. ie does it move enough water that they position to take advantage of it?

I always know what they are doing with the water IF I'm going to be fishing the tailwaters, but I've never given it much thought if I am on the lake.

Yes (personal observation).

I can't dance like I used to.
