Problem with Whopper Plopper

Other than the split ring issue, my 90's rock n roll just like they are supposed to. I did bend the tail on one, but I bent it straight pretty easily.

I just got some and lost the rear hook on the 5th or 6th fish I fished it on. None of them were over 13" either.

 was it the130 new version with the ewg hooks?

I worked on said problem WP today, bent paper clip to attach to tail fin to hold it where I thought it should be, taking a little hook out of it, dipped it in boiling water for a couple minutes then put it in the fridge to cool, will try tomorrow and report back. Thanks for your ideas.........

Mine was a 90.  Not sure on hooks - didn't really pay attention.  They were just purchased from Tackle Warehouse a month ago and I think they turn over inventory pretty well so I didn't even consider the snap rings.  I thought they had the problems worked out by now.

I'll never trust a WP split ring. Not 6 months from now, not 6 years from now.

I'm not sure you could find a worse one than what they use, but because they are easy to find how about Spro or Worth or Molix or heck even the XPS ones.
