Quillback Posted July 13, 2016 Posted July 13, 2016 Things were tough this morning - caught a dozen total, not one keeper, couple of 14" smallies were the biggest fish I caught. Keitech wasn't too good today. Caught a few on top, a couple on the Ned, but most on a 3/8 oz jig. Water temp was 84, water is still somewhat stained. Saw Pepe and crew out there today, hopefully they had a better day as far as catching fish. Pepe, cheesemaster, Muddy Water and 3 others 6
cheesemaster Posted July 14, 2016 Posted July 14, 2016 Thanks for the report Quillback. That's better than what I caught today -10 hours in the office. Lol. shark bait 1
176champion Posted July 14, 2016 Posted July 14, 2016 Thanks for the report Quillback!! I kind of like that area after I was there Monday. Water traffic didn't seem to bad compared to Shell Knob area. I put in at Big M campground....you didn't use a gold sided white bottom blue top lipless crankbait did you.... lmao I know everything about nothing and know nothing about everything! Bruce Philips
Pepe Posted July 14, 2016 Posted July 14, 2016 It was good to see you this morning and very gracious of you to share the space. My buddy caught fish there several years ago and really wanted to try it. We ended up down by CP again and also only had (a small amount) of luck on a jig & craw.
Champ188 Posted July 14, 2016 Posted July 14, 2016 At least you scratched out some small ones. Can be very tough to get on them this time of year. Thanks for the report.

Taking a break in the heat of summer goes back to my tournament days, I guess. I fish so much in fall, winter and spring that my boat needs a little break in the summer. vernon, 96 CHAMP, Donna G and 2 others 5
Sore Thumbs Posted July 16, 2016 Posted July 16, 2016 It's not exactly cool on the golf course Champ. At least when you fish it's a possibility to jump in the lake. I guess you could jump in the creek at BV. It's probably refreshing.
176champion Posted July 16, 2016 Posted July 16, 2016 I wouldn't want to jump in the lake..you could get run over...just left Walmart and the was 7 boats& trailers and 2 skidoo trailers loaded and heading south, not to mention all the campers that where loading up...lol....looks like tomorrow would be a good day to stay off of lake...lol I know everything about nothing and know nothing about everything! No jumping in the lake for me. You can park the golf cart in the shade and moving to your next shot gets the breeze stirring. Heck, I aim my shots for the shade. Lol. Come on fall.
