jim m Posted July 16, 2016 Posted July 16, 2016 went fishing last night and was spooled up with gamma flouresant line. DO NOT LIKE IT! every time I went to retie it would curl so bad it made it very difficult. think I'm going back to tried and true trilene xt. what line do some of you like. and I don't like braid either
Mitch f Posted July 16, 2016 Posted July 16, 2016 I tried Suffix Elite for the first time the other day....super smooth, but a little too smooth actually. Pitched like a dream except the line would slip down and wedge in between what I assume was too loosely spooled line and cause the pitch to stop in mid pitch and the jig would fly up in the air. Thought it was a fluke at first until it did it like 15 times. I guess the line is too smooth. I'll stick with Yozuri Hybrid...the best all around line I've ever used rps 1 "Honor is a man's gift to himself" Rob Roy McGregor
jim m Posted July 16, 2016 Author Posted July 16, 2016 I have a spinning reel spooled with sun assasin fluorocarbon, slicker than than a greased pig. I suspect it would do the same on a bait caster

176champion Posted July 17, 2016 Posted July 17, 2016 I use trilene XL in the green color on everything. Mitch f 1 I know everything about nothing and know nothing about everything! Bruce Philips
Al Agnew Posted July 18, 2016 Posted July 18, 2016 Yozuri Hybrid, McCoys Mean Green are the two lines I use most often. rps 1

ollie Posted July 18, 2016 Posted July 18, 2016 P-line Premium "you can always beat the keeper, but you can never beat the post" There are only three things in life that are certain : death, taxes, and the wind blowing at Capps Creek!

The heavier diameters (15-20#) have their issues but it's supple enough, has exceptional abrasion resistance and knot strength. I still have to cut it back and/or change it out about as often as I did Trilene XT when it was my line of choice because after it has been stretched hard a few times the lamination separates and it curls up like an old phone cord. That's good though as it lets me know right away that the section of line needs attention. ollie 1
Johnsfolly Posted July 18, 2016 Posted July 18, 2016 Yo-Zuri hybrid in 8# and P-line fluoroclear for 2 and 4# lines. I don't typically fish heavier line. I do have a reel spooled with 6# nanofil, but I haven't fished it often enough to have a full opinion about this line yet.
