Seth Posted April 6, 2021 Posted April 6, 2021 The 60/40 would "work", but the 90 or 115 HP engines would do the job a whole lot better. I ran a 1648 with a 95 Yamaha 50/35 2 stroke jet with 4 guys and 400# of paddlefish in it once. That was interesting.....

"Work" is an understatement...LOL I never noticed any loss of speed with 60/40 loaded down but getting it out of the hole was were I ran into trouble. And that's only with 2 guys and my buddies shipping container tackle box.😂 gotmuddy, Seth and mhmorg 1 2

You've never seen anything like this... @mhmorghas more tackle than he could tie on in a week. It would take him all day just to open all the packages. He has a trailer boat he pulls behind his jet boat just for the tackle...😂 In his defense though, if you ever hear about some new bait he will have it.. mhmorg 1

Brought a dozen rods and a pile of tackle just to throw a jig, buzzbait and crankbait 99% of the time. Brian Jones and snagged in outlet 3 1 1

Members kbbgood Posted April 8, 2021 Members Posted April 8, 2021 Wonder how much those bolt on whale tail things help out of the hole and if they are in the way in shallow water? anyone use them?

I had one on my 60/40. Not with the new 90. One other effects getting out of the hole is negative trim. My 60/40 had zero negative trim. They shimmed the 90 so it has it. They certainly help but not like more umph... Side benefit is when loading on a trailer in current.

Out of a full day of fishing he might actually FISH for maybe one hour. The rest of the day he is rooting around in his tackle, tying "FG knots" and perpetually re-rigging. At the end of the day I always have 60.00-80.00 worth of FREE STUFF left in my boat. If only it was crap that I wanted !! Seth and Brian Jones 2
