Longball22 Posted July 21, 2016 Posted July 21, 2016 Agree with trying Bill Beck. I go out with him a few times a year. Invaluable information. 417-335-1867

Phil Stone is a great guy who I have also fished with and is very good also! One day I will have to go out with Beck and Babler ozarksfishin 1

DADAKOTA Posted July 21, 2016 Posted July 21, 2016 Can you fellas that have used these guides tell me what is the proper amount to tip a fishing guide? Is it a percentage?
snagged in outlet 3 Posted July 21, 2016 Posted July 21, 2016 I do 20% if the guy is obviously working hard and trying. Just because I don't catch fish doesn't mean anything. The one thing I don't like is a guide who fishes during my trip, unless I ask him to go ahead and enjoy the bite with me. Blll and big c 2
rps Posted July 21, 2016 Posted July 21, 2016 With the guides suggested or Don House (not mentioned yet), go 20% or more. If you have to use someone else, figure 10% as the bottom end and go up based on their effort, not their result. Like servers, their hourly or rate is starvation wages. 10 percent means they did ok. Above that means they worked for it. BTW, I can't post the Reservoir Dogs scene on tipping, because of propriety concerns, but I urge all of you to Google Reservoir Dogs tipping and watch the video for fun.
Members Lunker Lane Posted July 22, 2016 Members Posted July 22, 2016 Bill Beck is awesome. May try Chris Tetrick www.midlakesguide.com Good Luck!

This is why the two guide trips I've been on were without any tip given. Nothing like paying a guy $50/hr to fish while you're in the back. Blll and ozarksfishin 2
