I think the fish will want to hit the little plopper rather than hitting the whole bait and getting hooked. I hope I'm wrong, or lots of people are going to be disappointed.

I once said that I would never throw a jerk bait. Didn't think I'd ever have the patience for those long pauses. Now it's my second-favorite way to fish.

So, I shall not say "never" to the Double Plopper. But at present, I have no plans to own one.

If I missed it already, please accept apologies and point me to the info - Anyone else experience the dummy baits getting misaligned after catching a fish? Took Fisher (my Golden Retriever Pup) out last Saturday on Beaver for his first trip (8 months old). Anyway, caught a 16.5" or so on the second cast. After that, though, I had a heck of a time get the dummy baits to run correctly - they didn't want to spin at the same speed.

One thing I did notice is that keeping the rod tip pointed at the water seemed to help a little,

Any bait that has wire arms is going to get bent out of shape from catching fish. Spinnerbaits, A-Rigs, etc. always have to be checked over for alignment after a fish. The Dub Plopper I would assume it no different.

I don't really get some of the "anti-plopper" responses. I mean it's a double buzzbait, which has been around forever, after all. Except this version is able to be killed at any point and will float. To me that makes it a "better mousetrap" than the standard buzzbait. There are a lot of gimmicky baits out there but I don't think this is one. It's just a different style of buzzbait. Sure River2Sea is playing on the success of the standard plopper. They would be IDIOTS not to. Not saying that this double plopper is going to be the next A-Rig but I also don't think it is going to be the next Helicopter Lure either. I still have Helicopter lures btw and only ONE bait missing from the original plano box. I'll trade the whole box for someone that is dissatisfied with one of their dub plops.

Great bait.

Sucks to tune (for me anyway). It's harder to get back in line than any other bait I've used so far. I will also mention that the bait running a little different after the first fish wasn't bothering me enough to put it down :)

Public Service Announcement:

DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT reel this bait up to a stump, crash into said stump, then allow bait to float motionless after the crash - unless you have really good line tied on :)

sigh.... if only it were made with titanium wire :(

I look for them to eventually break where the wires connect on the main arm.  Especially if there's a lot of tuning involved.

hope I catch something on it l  haven't tried mine yet

I think that will be a problem with this bait. Arms falling off. Going to a titanium wire would be a good idea. I'm sure they could make up the difference in material/production cost with increasing the price of the bait.

Great, just what we need is another gar magnet lure on the market.
