Blazerman Posted September 23, 2016 Posted September 23, 2016 i am sure this is just like opening day of deer season. The fish will see all this activity and boats and baits will be flying all over and their first thought is it to hunker down and hide. But eventually they will want to eat and hopefully my bait will be in front of one when it decides to and that fish will be big enough to get me a check. Because 30 people will be paid every two hours and you can guarantee no spots will be left unpaid. Which means decent bass are caught all day long. And 4 people will get really good checks. And the best part is, it is doing something i love to do anyway and i do all the time just for fun with no chance of getting a check. Might as well pay the money and see if i get lucky. Old plug Posted September 24, 2016 Posted September 24, 2016 BLAZERMAN You cannot apply human logic to a fish. I do not think it matters enough to nake a differance how many boats and all that stuff bothers them. I have caught far to many big fish in LOZ while being tosed around in a boat. I remember one evening year before last that I and mt my son caught 7 good keepers while these idiots were playing in a wake boat not 100 yards away. That was the onlly time I ever felt insecure in my18ft targa it was rolling a 45 degee angles. We had to brace against the gunnals. Reason we stayed at all was I seen the bass rising off a deep ledge to feed on shad ten foot down. All we had to do was cast a plastic worm out there and let it sink to them. They took it right away. That kind of situation is not a common thing and I Was not going to pass it up if t killed me.

A 14' jon won't cut it on LOZ. Sounds like you need this in your life!!! It's already had a couple 7lb ers in her Livewells! fishinwrench Posted September 25, 2016 Posted September 25, 2016 Did I hear right, over 3000 entrys? That's 100 boats per mile from the dam to the Hurricane deck bridge. Law of averages says there will be 220 blown powerheads, 175 gearcase failures, 200+ ignition system failures, 314 fuel system issues, 967 blown livewell or bilge pumps, 159 broken control cables, 635 trolling motor breakdowns, and 72 guys whose engine won't start because the kill switch is unplugged. Y'all have fun fishing. I'm gonna make more money than Donald Trump! ? MOPanfisher, Flatbottom Boy, 96 CHAMP and 4 others 7
Old plug Posted September 25, 2016 Posted September 25, 2016 Wrench......i do not know how many but if they have not all ready paid they better have ccld cash in theor lttle hands. i was told BBB fot burnt with some bad checks last year. I have no idea how many.
fishinwrench Posted September 25, 2016 Posted September 25, 2016 I don't think they got burnt. They are just being smart and protecting themselves. If a vendor taking entry's accepts a check this late in the game then the check may not have time to clear the BBB folks account before the time comes to pay out the winnings. No conspiracy, just wise business decisions. Besides, with our current debt collection laws, someone could pay by check then stop payment if they don't receive a check on Sun. Since they received nothing then they could claim that they never participated in the event (for any number of reasons) and prosecuting them for writing a bad check would be near impossible. Nobody heads out for a weekend of fishing without a couple hundred cash on them....so really it's no biggie.
