I can assure you that myself and plenty others that read this forum have caught plenty of good sacks at one time or another. What they don't do is catch them every time they go. On top of that when they do the information that is shared is not done with a cavalier attitude. I'm not saying you don't know what you are doing. I think the way you deliver your message is where the problem lies. Good luck and continued success.

I have to say --- in the most non-confrontational way that I can --- that Thumbs has a very good point. The devil is in the delivery. Titling your posts things like "Absurd" and "It's Simple" tends to irritate folks. As a general rule, consistently catching bass is neither absurd nor simple ... not on Table Rock and not on any other public waterway in this part of the country. Saying that it is can come across as arrogant and is often suspected of being untrue.

As for those who claim to catch them by the dozens every time they go, I can't concretely dispute your numbers. I wasn't there. But I will say that I don't care how good of a deep-water angler you  may be, there are some bonafide offshore gurus around --- Bill Babler and Bill Beck, to name a couple --- who do not catch them every trip and who have absolutely no problem admitting to the world when they don't. I don't think I'm stepping very far out on a limb by saying that no one on this forum is any better than those two at putting deep-water fish in the boat on Table Rock. So if you want to regale us all with stories of how you hammer them every time you get your lower unit wet, go right ahead. Just don't be surprised when some of us raise a suspicious brow.

I'm as appreciative as anyone here of all of the great info that's shared on this site. As we all tend to do, I take what suits me and leave the rest for others to sift through. I'm often told that my own contributions are appreciated, and I like knowing that I've helped others. That's what this place is all about.

well champ, I really do not give a flip what you believe or do not believe.  in fact, myself and some others on here do not have to tell anyone one darn thing about how to improve their catching abilities.  when one has fished and lived and breathed fishing for over 40 years, I would hope that one might have learned something in the process.  one of those things is how to pick and choose, when possible, the right times to go, and that alone helps to increase what you might catch.

as an example, I took a couple of guys that are trying to learn how to fish for bass.  neither could hardly cast and I spent a good portion of the 5 hours we were on the water with casting lessons and electronic lessons as to what to look for.  today was one of those days that I really would not have bothered to go since it was the day after the rain and the fog was going to hang around until after 1 pm.  however, this was the day they could go.  with that said, they both caught two nice white bass each and two short bass on spoons.  I fished for about an hour after the sun got out, and managed to catch 4 nice keeps, three on a spoon and on swimming a 1/8 jig and 1/2 of a senko through a couple of treetops that I was marking some moving fish around.

I also recall stating that fishing the right hours can improve your catching.  I think babler and beck are often off the water by 3:30 pm, and from that time to dark is often the best feeding time for this time of the year.  also, I fish at night quite often.  why? because the chances of catching bass go up tremendously, especially on being able to pick the right type of nights to go.  remember babler talking about all the big bass that the minister was showing him on his phone, and they had been catching them like that every time they were out.  remember they were fishing from 10 pm to 5 am.  pretty much the very best hours to be fishing table rock and be able to catch those types of bass.

the best thing for you and the others that liked your post is to just not read what I posted, and then you will not be mad all day.  here is another thing that comes to mind that might help many of you and that is to go to the coffee shop and listen for someone that is catching fish the way to want to catch them.  that will help you a lot.

I apologize to anyone that it might offend for me catching bass and telling type of depth and what to look for.

if this is a club thing here and you would want to vote that I not post anything, that will be fine by me.  I really do not have to tell one thing about what I am doing and I never did for years when I fished tournaments all the time.  but, I don't do that anymore and just like your money, you can not take with you into the next life.

Bo, you are wasting your time trying to explain.  The large majority of us appreciate  your time and effort making your posts. It's obvious that some just can't handle others  success. They exist in all aspects of life, even fishing. Give it a rest Champ....

Post what you want Merc. I apologize if I offended anyone or wasted their time. From now on I will not comment. I will post what I've done and read postings of others. Good luck and tight lines.

I've sit back and watched these post go from bad to worse.

Over the 3 years I've been a member and definitely had my rough days. Heck last year was just a flat rough one. I've never second guessed any post on this site. I've been on the water the same days as some of you guys ( normals like myself)  and you  flat killed them and I had rough a day. Fished Derby's with some great sticks and seen them struggling when everyone else is wacking them. We all have our rough times on the lake. Just because one guy reports flat smoking them doesn't mean he's blowing smoke.

We all need to step back and take a deep breath. Merc you have helped tons of people including myself find patterns I would have ever found without your reports. Champ the same goes for you. We are all here with one thing in common we love fishing and love helping eachother do just that. If this man reports catching fish this way or that way. Instead of second guessing him you bet im going to hit the water and try and repeat what he's reporting if I'm struggling myself. If that doesn't work I'd look further into what he's doing and what I'm doing wrong.

I personally can sit here and say I learn something new everyday I'm on the lake and from reading everyone's post. I will never know everything about table rock and I'm sure there not one person here that does.  After all it's not like the man is keeping a limit of 5 pounders for his table ??.

Let continue to make this the best place on the net to talk fishing.

Ps.. Sorry I have had report lately tore my shoulder up at work and haven't been able to get out. MRI was yesterday waiting on results on Monday. see what happens.

Pss good luck to all the grown-ups taking kids out this weekend on youth season. Please wear orange and teach them proper gun safety. Hope everyone has a great time.

Thanks cody

Hate to hear about the shoulder, Cody. Tore the rotator cuff in my right one and did the surgery. That was close to 20 years ago and it's still good as new. Just have to make sure and do your physical therapy after the surgery. And maybe you won't even need an operation.

Champ thank you.  I sure hope I don't need the surgery. But after a month of hoping and praying that it's going to get better after taking it easy hasn't been been the case.  I took for granted waking up pain free every morning and definitely looking forward to those day again lol. I'm ready to be done with this.

You apparently don't read the posts throughly.  I explained I don't catch fish in the summer.  I pointed you back to my Dec. post.  I have received dozens of compliments on my posts, and several inquiries.  I'm sure the guides have good days.  Don't speak for them.  I will continue to report results and help people who are learning.  Too many people think they are some sort of great guru of accuracy.  Some people ask for pics auspiciously to determine where the fish were caught.  I have no idea what your motives are.  Try to help people who appreciate learning.  Try sharing, it's is fulfilling.  And please, don't read my posts.  I will no longer respond to your inquiries.  Last check you were 1 of 1800 of hits on my last post.

On a positive note.  I read Cindyjo's post about locating the fish on the graph and throwing the kastmaster spoon.   I am a pretty decent fisherman but I really struggle on the deep bite.  I followed the advice and tried my luck in 40 feet of water with plenty of fish on the graph.  Despite my lack of confidence with a spoon I caught crappie on my first two casts.  What a hoot.  I spent the rest of the trip chasing surfacing whites but I'll sure go back to the spoon next year.
