The current faux-enforcement of wake size and plowing is REALLY upsetting them, so with any luck at all you guys will gain some revenue down there soon.   ?

You might have womething there Wrench. They are now at war wih dock owners I believe. I substained more Sea Wall damage thos past year than ever before. When they drop the water I will repair it for what I Hope is the last time. I should be gone from the area and done fishing after next season. i have had my fill of both boats and what has happened to a gentle sport.

The big boat folks on LOZ always threaten to sell their house and move to TR every time something up here ticks them off.   Whenever I hear them say that, I think to myself "Yes! Go!".

Maybe suggest Grand lake to them instead.  A few more big boats on Grand won't make much of a difference.

When I first moved here there were several incidents of folks taking the bussiness end of a rifle to big boats. If it ever ever returns with the current attitude in this country it will be interesting.

I tried to find the actual wording of the amendment, as I am not a very trusting person, especially where politicians are incolved.  so far all I have been able to find is Billy Longs articles and explanation.  IF it is as he described it might not be as bad as I feared, his description is that it would basically lift the current moratorium, and delay the Shoreline Management Plan update for 5 years, it would basicall return to things to the former SMP rules, doesn't sound like it would be a free for all.  however it would through out all the planning, work, public comments received so far and force a re-start from scratch, kicking the can down the road so to speak, and wasting the last 2 years or so of work.  sounds like a well thought out idea right?  again anymore I don't trust any politicians, I will.continue to.search for the actual wording, if someone better than I finds it please post it up or at least a link.

Might have found it.https://www.congress.gov/amendment/114th-congress/house-amendment/1449?q={"search"%3A["hr+5303"]}

If the above is correct, then the dock zones on the existing map would be back into play at least for 5 years and that seems good to me.  Regarding the moratorium on docks, I have seen a few new docks put in recently down on the lower end.  How does that work with the moratorium?

i velieve this is nothing more than a small test probe. I imagine there is some powerful money wants to get all sorts of things in your back yard.  Knowing the kind of support he gets down there I would not be a bit surprised to to see a Trump holel and casino within the next 4 yrs right there in the lower lake. Someplace close to everything else if he gets elected. You surely do not expect a developer to really care at all about you want do you.

They must have gotten permits before the moratorium.

Or there some funny business going on just like the Indian Ridge deal I talked about above?

Likely Phil is correct, if it is a large dock it takes a while to get built and in place, depending on how much of a back log the builder had.  when politics get involved in attempting to circumvent an agency policy it is usually not to benefit the public in general.  the only thing I am ever sure about politicans is their number one concern is re-election.  maybe I just have a biased and jaded view of politicians.

I am aware of one 20 slip dock that has been put in since the moratorium started. Phil is correct. This dock is in the cove just north of the dam. The person had a permit prior to the moratorium and the rule was they could not install it until they had most of the slips sold. The sales guy was trying to sell us a slip since 2015. He has two slips left and has dropped the price. By the way the rules proposed include a provision that a person could own no more that two docks on the lake unless they own a marina or resort.

Take one for the team and keep them up there for us.  I find it amazing to see ocean going vessels on TR.  You know...... the boats that have the little radar thing above the "captains deck" spinning around. I think the best for all involved, LOZ and TR, would be to send the ocean going, tuna rig, big money boats back to the ocean or great lakes where they belong.

Thank you to all for sending their concerns to $Long and $$$Blunt on their dictate/amendment to serve special interests/destroy TR. Wouldn't hurt to send $$McCaskill our concerns also.
