I won't spend more than $20. They go for a lot more but I have got 5 v37s for $65 before that were in great shape. Thanks guys. I will try out the predators. They don't hurt to lose like an old wart. I throw them so much you will lose then eventually.

I personally don't like any of the original WW colors compared to what I can get custom painted... So I won't spend more than $10 for a pre-rap wart. I've actually been able to win quite a few and many cheaper than my $10 limit. Then I get them custom painted in colors that match the hatch and no one else has. It's kind of fun searching out the crappiest looking warts.

I'm pretty sure that the A10 from Skirmish Baits is the Predator blank. And Dwain Batey paints them... So you can basically get a paint job from one of the best in the business on a Predator WW for $10-$12. He comes out with new color patterns all the time too.

The Teckel Drunker, LiveTarget HFC, and Spro RK Crawler are my other favorites in this category.

I completely agree, this year caught lots with rc and they don't have rattles, just hunt and bang deeper that a wart.

I remember when I first started fishing the Rock in 81, dad and used crawdad colored deep wee R's and did very well. Never ever used warts intil word got out and was the craze.

Also, before 5&6xd strike king cb came out, all of my post spawn, summer deep cranking was with fat free shad or deep little n.

If you put a good running cb in their wheelhouse banging and deflecting off rocks or wood a bass reacts and hits it. Imo

Some very good points there. I did nearly all of my 80's cranking with the brown/chartreuse/orange or black/chartreuse/orange Deep Wee-R's. Threw the Deep Little N a fair amount, too.

For my money, the Rock Crawler is the best "new" crankbait we've seen in a long time. It just gets bites, and a lot of them. Haven't really given the Strike KIng XD's a fair try. Heck, you can't throw everything. I do like the Bandit 200 and 300 series, too.

Champ, I agree on the RC.  Some days it is just hard to put it down.

Rc is a great bait, very similar wobble to a wart and they hunt deeper. Hope quality improves though, I had several come back without a corner of the bill from banging and 3 filled up with water.  Thats never happened to a wart! My buddies have the same complaints.

They fix that and add rattles to a version, they really got something!

When the Rock Crawlers first came out, I refused to buy them. I had lots of warts, but had not really done that well with them. When I finally had a breakthrough day with the wart, I bought a few Rock Crawlers to try. I immediately caught fish on them. They throw better, run deeper, and I like the colors better. I typically reach for a Rock Crawler before a wart.

Strike King 4, 5xd and 3xd are good baits. 3xd is very light and harder to throw but it dives deep for its size. Bandits are good too. I just started using them in Oklahoma last year. Solid black is a great color on the Arkansas River.

I thought you were doing nothing but drop-shotting these days.:lol: Or are you drop-shotting your crank plugs?

Champ I found that thing flipping a jg. Flipping  I still do I do not have to use of my arm above my waist. Above that and combined with forward motion like casting will be the end of my fishing for the day in about 5-10 cast. Also being to deep jigging my spoons.  But drop shotting is what I been doing for the past two years from post spawn till sometime in early fall. I have mostly been a flipper and pitcher all along. I can flip and pitch a drop shot but it takes a bit of practice. On jan 13 I will be getting a new shoulder. I hope to be doing some casting by the middle of march.
