Tried trolling the K Dock to up above Snapp area  looking for walleye with my MonaChari today.  Trolled a-rigs with a flicker shad behind the middle arm staying in 18-25 fow going 1.3-1.7 mph. Picked up a 3 pound largemouth right off the bat just above kdock. We ran 4 rods out of the boat and picked up 4 big whites, 3 more bass a small striper, and a gar on the next set of flats between kdock and Snapp. Fished brush piles for awhile on Snapp with swimming minnows and caught 4 keeper crappie and 20 shorts. Went back to trolling above the power lines and caught 3 more bass ranging from 2-4 pounds.  Again, no walleye.   Lots of boats on the water today and the k dock parking lot was full. Great way to spend the day with my wife enjoying the weather.IMG_0243.JPG

Stink'n bass...

They get me so excited when they bite, reeling them in hoping for a walleye.  When I see it....HUGE letdown.

Water looked great. Glad to see you getting to fish with your wife. She seemed to be enjoying the trip. Sounds like fun trip even though the bass were hitting and not walleye. Jealous about even that small striper.

I've been wanting to try spider rigging for walleye on Bull Shoals for a long time and finally broke out the racks and rods Wednesday. It isn't my favorite way to fish, but when they want it sssllllooooowwwww, it can be a dynamite way to explore.I fished a lot of the same water that Duckydoty fished from above Snap to just below the powerlines. Concentrated on the 10 - 14 fow range. Used double 1/4 oz jig rigs with tubes and tipped with minnows on the bottom jig. Caught one baby crappie just above Snap and missed a couple more hits. After that nothing until I got to where the channel swings across above the powerlines. In pretty short order, I caught four Kentuckies between 14" and 16". Every fish was on the jig tipped with a minnow. Not much action, but at least I got out of the house after a horrible chest cold and the weather was spectacular.
