Bill Babler Posted January 17, 2017 Posted January 17, 2017 Jason Christie had a good comment on it. Fishing is suspose to be fun. Anytime I'm not fishing tournaments I'm fishing for fun and I will throw it every chance I get. I'm not here to start a debate on it. It's legal and if you are capable of throwing it and learning about it, it is fun to catch them on. Folks always ask me what my favorite way to fish is and I always say the same thing. Whatever and wherever I can catch them. Royal Blue, abkeenan, Champ188 and 4 others 7 http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com

Beyond that, my dislike for it is purely selfish ... you almost have to throw it if you want to win a winter/early spring derby and it's hard on old shoulders, elbows and wrists. Your first paragraph is the main reason I don't like the a-rig plain and simple. I have buddies that I fish with that use it all the time in my boat. They start whacking them on it, and offer one of their other a-rig setups "I got another one you're welcome to use" I jokingly say no thanks I'll stick to my rogue or gitzit or grub. Just not the way I want to catch em. My choice and my opinion. I don't have anything against anyone using it, that's their choice. But like Champ and I pointed out, there is a lot of big bass no longer swimming for other anglers to enjoy! To each his own, I respect that! Wart 57 1
Members stoneattherock Posted January 19, 2017 Members Posted January 19, 2017 wont disagree with Hammer time...but would mention most trophy fish are not kept to hang on walls..they are replicas..this day and age technology allows measurements and pictures..thus fish stilll in the lake..just up to us to try and catch them Hammer time 1

Amazingly, some people remain dead set (pardon the pun) on killing trophy fish to have a "real mount" made by a taxidermist. abkeenan, Hammer time, vernon and 1 other 4

Not to mention fish damaged by the experience, or simply kept for driveway pics. Champ188, Hammer time, abkeenan and 1 other 4
abkeenan Posted January 19, 2017 Posted January 19, 2017 Saw this in Bass Blaster today and figured I'd share since it has the evil A-Rig as named bait for the bag. That and the evil $25 MB 110's. Unnamed lake in Bella Vista, AR, Steve Meador and Rich "pop that bottle of" Champagne sacked 5 for 29.87 (2nd was 10 lbs less!). Two were over 7 and caught on a YUMbrella Flash Mob u-rig with Big Bite Cane Thumpers (disco violet and smokey ghost) with War Eagle heads, 25-lb Sunline Shooter and Falcon Cara rods. Other three were on a Vision 110 (pro blue): Royal Blue and dtrs5kprs 2
