Members sjcorpst Posted January 25, 2017 Members Posted January 25, 2017 Starting to plan a trip to TR this Spring and would like some advice. Long ago I used to come down the 3rd week of April and did fairly well. Last year I went at the beginning of April and did really well, the Bass were just starting to spawn. I realize it's mostly based on weather and water temperature, but would 3rd week of April be a fairly decent guess? I've gotta get my PTO set on my Team's calendar so I know I can have it off. Any help would be much appreciated. Most likely will be fishing to begin with in the Aunt's Creek arm for Bass.
Browning Guy Posted January 25, 2017 Posted January 25, 2017 Might consider NOT coming down The last week of April as there are going to be over 475 boats in all of the tournaments scheduled for April 29th. With all of the pre-fishing the week prior it will be a mad house then. I know of one tournament that hasn't been added to the Water Patrol Regatta schedule yet for that weekend. magicwormman 1

I checked regatta permits early this year for our club and actually the whole month of April is crazy with tournament dates, more so than in past years. magicwormman, crazy4fishin and dtrs5kprs 3

vernon Posted January 25, 2017 Posted January 25, 2017 Well, add me and my boat to the already long and growing list! We're heading down 22-29 April and again 7 May. However, unless these guys all want to try to win where there's no fish they won't come anywhere near me so I doubt I'll even notice! Now if I was strictly hog hunting, it would be first week of April.
