dan hufferd Posted January 27, 2017 Posted January 27, 2017 I wasted the day fishing deep. I started throwing a jerk bait up on the bank, and this nice walleye gave my jerk bait a nibble, it was just enough for a hook-up. I could not find another walleye to save my life. My jerk bait was probably moving to fast after this one. BilletHead, hooked on crappie, packersooner and 8 others 11
Johnsfolly Posted January 27, 2017 Posted January 27, 2017 Dan Congrats on a January walleye! Looks like it was eating well or full of eggs. If that was going to be the only one, it was a nice one to catch. Just two more, February and March? dan hufferd 1

Yes, just 2 more months, but I can not find my pic's of April so to make my story believable I have to get video of one for April too. It is cool following your target species around for a year. This is year number 2 for me. I did not get one last year in January. I am elated to say the least ! I did take this fish home even though she was full of eggs. I still feel kind of bad. I wonder how many actually reproduce in Stockton? Johnsfolly 1
dprice Posted January 28, 2017 Posted January 28, 2017 That is a mystery I think. Zara or hammer do you have the answer? Dprice priceheatingair.com
MOPanfisher Posted January 28, 2017 Posted January 28, 2017 Doubt if there is an way to know how many actually spawn naturally. Seems like there are almost two different ones, the ones who run up he creeks and rivers ro spawn and the ones who will spawn in the lake itself. Doubt the reproduction is enough to keep he population up without stocking, which I am glad they do. Walleye are one of my top 5 favorite fish depending in time of the year, and it's getting to be "jack time". trythisonemv, dan hufferd, Johnsfolly and 1 other 4
trythisonemv Posted January 28, 2017 Posted January 28, 2017 There are two different kinds. One is a lake strain from up north that gets stocked. The other is the native river strain.
