At least not for me. Donna and I put in 8.5 hours Saturday and captured a grand total of six bass, four of which were keepers.

We spent all day in the Baxter area and just west of there and every fish was caught on a jerk bait --- Megabass 110 and Luck E Strike RC STX. Colors were just your run-of-the-mill shad imitators.

Fished a lot of 45-degree banks and some bluffy stuff, but all of our fish came off windblown shallow banks with maybe a 30-degree slope.

Never saw a squirrel, deer or any other wildlife move all day other than a couple of herons and some songbirds. Just not a good activity day.

Water temp was 46-47 everywhere we went.

Took some high school kids yesterday out of shell knob, caught 13 total with 7 keepers and that was not an easy 13, bite was slow water temp was same as what you found.  Found one area late in day caught 4, 3 were keepers on very flat stuff.  All on jerk, spro blue bandit.

It was a quiet day in the animal kingdom, but don't forget that beautiful mink we saw.  Glad we golfed today.  Think it would have been more of the same on the lake as yesterday since all we saw on the course was three herons and two robins.  Brought along the squirrel crackers for nothing.  lol

Champ, sounds like you and Donna had to work for those 6 fish. Thanks for the information.

I fished Saturday from 8-2:30 and only had one keeper on a rock crawler to show for it. Lost a keeper on a RC stick. I am glad to hear it wasn't just me having a hard time Saturday. I did graph some good schools of deep fish but the wind made it next to impossible to fish them.

Saw a pair of otters on Beaver this fall. From the posts that followed, they seemed to be rare on Beaver too.

Glad I'm not the only one that has seen one. Had no idea they were in this area. They are awesome animals. Wonder if they stay in the same area all the time or move around?
