Champ188 Posted February 17, 2017 Posted February 17, 2017 Took a buddy today. Launched at Eagle Rock at around 7:30 and fished til 3:30. Went down as far as Owl Creek and upriver as far as state line. Had 23 total fish, but only 3-4 keepers, none of which were better than 2 pounds. Water temps ranged from 47-51. Caught one on a jerk bait, a couple on crank baits and the rest on the varmint. Fish are really starting to make a springtime move. Dewayne French, dtrs5kprs, big c and 8 others 11
Nitro 750 Posted February 17, 2017 Posted February 17, 2017 Thanks for the report Champ, it was a beautiful day to be on the lake.
Quillback Posted February 17, 2017 Posted February 17, 2017 I'll glom on to Champs report as I went yesterday myself, but didn't fish as far up the White as Champ was. Still a good Ned bite, not quite as good as Monday, but I did put 25 in the boat, with maybe a half dozen borderline keepers, no bigguns. The fish I caught were still mostly deep, 15-25 FOW, but I did catch a half dozen on a Rock Crawler that were in the 6-8 foot range. Water temps were 47-49. No smallmouth at all yesterday. magicwormman and huntest 2
Royal Blue Posted February 17, 2017 Posted February 17, 2017 I'm gonna look somewhat stupid for asking this, but what's the Varmint?

176champion Posted February 17, 2017 Posted February 17, 2017 Thanks for the report!! To be honest i have never caught a small mouth on table rock, they have all been big mouth. I know everything about nothing and know nothing about everything! Bruce Philips
*T* Posted February 17, 2017 Posted February 17, 2017 The contributors to Ozark Anglers use highly classified "codes" when discussing baits, and even when you think you know which ones are being written about, there are often "codes within codes". So be sure to purchase the best selling digest "OA Triple Classified, Covert Bait Guide", now at your local Bait and Tackle, so you know what to tie on the end of your line. Either that or just fish the Varmint. dtrs5kprs, Champ188, magicwormman and 2 others 5 "Water is the driving force of all Nature." -Leonardo da Vinci

Quillback Posted February 17, 2017 Posted February 17, 2017 BassBlaster dude calls it the "Flanders" rig. And sometimes the "Tootsie Roll". Champ188, *T* and Sore Thumbs 3
