Members Golf Pro Posted March 21, 2017 Members Posted March 21, 2017 Ed, thanks for all the info. How do you think things storms that may be coming will effect the bass fishing this week?
Ed Franko Posted March 22, 2017 Author Posted March 22, 2017 Anytime you have a weather change it will affect the fisherman more than the fish. i really think the fishing pressure is hurting the fishing more than anything. The days are gone of having a hidden brushpile, a secret drop or ridge. Just keep your confidence and things will work out. Now that i have given you all of the excuses Rain really never bothers me in fact spring rains are my favorite.. Not Downpours Not Lighting a gentle rain is as good as gold to the fish not the fisherman...Add a little wind and the bite is on. I don't think the temp drop is going to affect the bite that much.. Wear the blades off your favorite spinnerbait or knock all the paint off your favorite crankbait.. But what ever you do just keep confidence in what you are doing.... Lighting is dangerous and in my book kills the fishing....Be careful and take cover. I have a open slip at my house pull in . I have found that if it is really raining I always take cover if lighting is present . I have never had anyone get upset if you pull in a open slip. Just don't get out and walk around on their dock. I leave as soon as it stops raining anyway they won't come out while it is raining anyway. Now to answer the question will thew weather affect the fishing this weekend..... I really don't think so.... I think the fishing will hurt it worse. MOsmallies, Quillback, conorsixtakc and 2 others 5
WeekendWarrior Posted March 22, 2017 Posted March 22, 2017 There are lots of tourneys coming with the weekend tournaments along with B.A.S.S. College and high school tourneys during the week coming up.
Ed Franko Posted March 23, 2017 Author Posted March 23, 2017 Fished this morning for a couple of hours . Fished the backs of a couple of windy coves and had two keepers in pretty short order. Nothing special but keepers . The start of a good day.I think. Had jobs to do and then came home thinking of a nap then some lunch and back out for a evening fish. NOPE NEVER HAPPENED Lots of bass boats on the lake today getting ready for upcoming tournaments I guess.. I can here them now "man I am really on fish" come tournament day they must of moved. i have watched this one guy come flying in the cove like a wild man. He will cast about a half dozen times then off..He then will show up again make another half dozen cast and the take off again. I guess it is a timing thing or something.... I want to tell him save yourself some gas fish the area a little harder then go somewhere else. The water temp was 48 to 50 this morning I am sure that it has jumped up a little now. The water is clear and the lake is 654 something. Best bite I think is a crankbait followed by a spinnerbait. It really depends where you are fishing.. I like the fist size rocks or pea gravel myself. With a side order of flipping shad... conorsixtakc and Phil Lilley 2

Ed I want to tell you it's refreshing to see a guy that's not so proud to charge for info (*cough* Bassing Bob). Fishing is a lot simpler than most make it out to be. Guys need to quit trying to figure it all out from a computer. Drop your paid subscription, show up a day early, wet a line and get to work. Hydro 205 and Phil Lilley 2
fishinwrench Posted March 24, 2017 Posted March 24, 2017 That steady SSE wind today made my home stretch like a trip across Lake Michigan. So many places I wanted to fish but just couldn't, so I stuck strictly to little protected backends and caught 3 good ones totaling 8-12. WeekendWarrior and Smalliebigs 2

I am a paid subscriber to BassingBob and believe it is worth it and I live here. It may not be for everyone but for what it cost for things these days with high dollar boats and equipment guys use I think $45 for a year for up to date info is worth it for guys who aren't familiar with the patterns of the lake. shrapnel Posted March 24, 2017 Posted March 24, 2017 The "patterns" have been pretty much the same, for the 30+ years I have been fishing that lake. Tell me the date, water temp and weather that day and I know what I'll have tied on and what areas to hit. Same for any lake, fish are programmed to eat and survive, they do not think. conorsixtakc 1
bjovan Posted March 24, 2017 Posted March 24, 2017 I also am a bassing bob member and for the 45 bucks a year I think it is worth it. I also think that the momentum on this page is encouraging with fish reports. I spend most my time at LOZ and Table Rock and in the past the info you would get from the table rock forum was hands down the best. It always helped giving me a head start when i made a trip down there. It is good to see some of that happening on this page a little info is always a good thing. As far as Bassing Bob sure he started a business with his website but he does a ton for the derby fisherman at LOZ and area businesses.
