I've been putting off buying one it seem like you snag more fish than you catch. Guess im going to have to get one.

Yeah I had a couple that got a second hook in the side.  No worse damage than all these "fizzing" guys are doing though.

I appreciate the invite. Because of the nature of my work it is near impossible for me to plan on or commit to anything.  Plus I'm kinda on this crusade against hauling around and relocating fish.  I have crowed about it so much that if I fished a regular weigh-in tournament now I'd be the biggest hypocrite ever. ?

I understand, but we, including the fish, would give ya a free pass.  Im still coming up there for you to now not only show me how to catch LOZ lunkers, but now with a A rig.

TinBoats BassClub.  An aluminum only bass club. If interested in info send me a PM.

Good Job !!!

I fished up in the Glaze with a couple guys from Kansas and we really did not have a good day... It was like take a ticket to fish a spot then somebody would cut in front of you.. I had thought about running to my area down by the dam but I was afraid of the rough boat ride coming back. My back is still a little tender.

When I got to the Gravi ramp it was packed, but everyone except the Crappie porcupine rigs must have ran out of there.

I don't get those crappie guys drifting over 30-40' of nothing looking water (mud flat) with 8 poles spidered.  I've watched them for quite awhile and they never seem to catch anything out there, but they'll drift out there for hours and then come back tomorrow and do it again.   They are either way smarter than I am.....or dumber than a sack of hammers.

That's like THE last place I would ever look to find a mess of crappie.

I'm with you on that thinking during this time of year. In the summertime, you can catch them just about anywhere trolling cranks, but you are covering a  lot more water than spider rigging. If I was setup for spider rigging, I would be find some shallow mud flats that have shad on them and that aren't too far from spawning pockets. That's the only time I have seen spider riggers do well up there. I'd much rather go find some brush or docks with fish and actually feel the thump and load up the livewell that way.

I think they might be temperaute orientated doing that. I never cared much for the spider rig type thing. Some years ago there was a netional  crappie tourament here. I had just in a big pile of brush between two dock om my poinr and was fishing there the next day to feel how it had settled on the bottom. This pro come in a bright red boat all covered with decals wearing  bright red jump suit to match. He had 6 eods famned out in front of him. He started a turn in between the docks I just brushed. I told him I would not advise you doing that becaise I just layed a big pile of brush in there yeasterday and its very snaggy. He gave me a look of contempt and never said a word. About 15 more foot and all 6,rods got hung hung up. Right then and there my mind was made up  about those spider rigs

There is a reason they spider rig so much. It's arguably the most effective overall method of catching crappie regardless of the body of water you are on. LoZ is the perfect lake for a one poler though. I'd hate to spider rig it when it is so easy to actually put fish in the boat and feel the "thump".

Oh yeah. I didn't even think about the no A-rig deal. That makes that 30# even more impressive!

Can they throw the PDL rig?  That is the new thing the IL guys are using where A-rig is a no go.  Tackle Warehouse abotu out of them, someone is buying them.
