First of all I am not a hair packer or spinner or claim to be. Got a hankering to work up a Dalberg diver. Chucked up a size 2 B10s. Heavier than needed but it was easy to grab. Worked up some flash and hackle for legs. Added some red to the behind. I could of spun up the whole head and make a striped head but wanted to do some stacking for a spotted effect. Had some spin so the head is off some but the fish are not going to care :) . The very tip of the nose is spun up on purpose. Went to trimming, what a mess! I will be doing more for fun and for fishing too. Thought I would share it with you all.

 Some views,

Not bad ?

For what it's worth...If you trim the head in a squared off wedge shape (instead of rounded off) the fly has way better action.    Try one like that and you'll see.

Stick you some googly bubble eyes on the side edges and that dog will definitely hunt.

Yes and thank you Mr. Googly eyes :) . I had forgotten how possessed you and Ronnie were about Googly doll eyes. Next one I will do that and put a small rattle out of it's rear end. I had thought about leaving the head larger but the more I trimmed the more packed and pretty the flared hair got. Almost got carried away. You know you cannot put hair back on :P.

I guess I need fly tying lessons from Wrench and photography lessons from Ronnie. Fishing lessons from everyone :) , What I really need is to get out of the house and fight the mud, rain and cool weather and try to catch a fish,

Nothing wrong with your fly-tying skills, that's for sure, I was just suggesting you try one a little more squared.

It won't look like a squared off wedge after you fish it awhile but for me that is a better way to initially shape them at the vice.  That might just be because I don't pack the hair super tight though.

So Wrench you are saying make the nose more pig snoutish?   I seriously ask that question.
