Targa98 Posted April 2, 2017 Posted April 2, 2017 Ok guys, Ive been following this thread and it has pretty much turned into a wobble head topic. I had a buddy I pre fished with for a tourney he had and he wanted me to throw this thing. I never had a single bite on it mostly I'm sure because ive never thrown it and really don't have a clue how to. We caught a lot of fish on those days with everything else in close to the same areas so I know there were fish there. Can any body fill me in on how to work this thing.

With a wobble head, or with a Jikka rig, I have found the "best" retrieve to be a straight scrub. Very slowly drag the bait across the bottom using the reel and not the rod. The rigs are remarkably snag resistant and the bumps, limbs, and drops give all the action it needs.
96 CHAMP Posted April 3, 2017 Posted April 3, 2017 Like RPS said, work it like a crankbait, keep contact with the bottom, if it snags a bit I twitch the tip of the rod, give it a good snap, a lot of the bites I get is when the bait is moving pretty quick or after a good snap of the rod, there are times it can be amazingly difficult to detect a strike as well, I think they suck it in so fast and not strike at it. I caught one good one today but had trolling motor battery troubles, going to Golden Mo. in the morning. After 3 hours one of my batteries drops down to 11 volts while the other one reads 12.4 Quillback and dtrs5kprs 2
Quillback Posted April 3, 2017 Author Posted April 3, 2017 There's a lot of plastics you can use on the wobble heads too. Just about any plastic you can think of, worms, craws, creatures, flukes. 96 CHAMP and dtrs5kprs 2

dtrs5kprs Posted April 3, 2017 Posted April 3, 2017 For those of us, as in myself, who need pictures. Yep. That's a bait the late SacRiver Jim and I kind of dialed in about the second year the swing heads were a thing. We sent a bunch of info back and forth on it. That was the year he had the accident I think. Doesn't look special, but like Paca Craws, it's hollow back from the head. Lot of times those fish you don't feel just end up hooked. Which makes it even more if an idiot bait, if you think about it. Quillback and rps 2
