dblades Posted April 13, 2017 Posted April 13, 2017 Finally broke down and got some real Keitechs to see what the fuss is about. What is the prefered rigging this time of year, open hook jighead, under-spin, or a swimbait hook?
fowlthing Posted April 13, 2017 Posted April 13, 2017 I use the open hook on a fish hedz. Expensive jig head but does work.. I need to try the underspin more it seems to be popular.
STLbassbuster Posted April 13, 2017 Posted April 13, 2017 Return them they don't catch any fish lol. I also fish them on a open hook jig head (VMC). I like the 1/4 & 3/8 ounce head for the 3.8 & 4.3.
bferg Posted April 13, 2017 Posted April 13, 2017 I use regular ol' Cabelas unpainted jig heads in 1/8 and 1/4 oz and they work just fine. Also, I always put a couple drops of glue on mine which makes them last 100x longer. The more beat up it gets the better it works! As long as it stays on the jig and the tail is still attached keep throwing it! dtrs5kprs, vernon, magicwormman and 1 other 4

dblades Posted April 13, 2017 Author Posted April 13, 2017 4.8 rainbow shad, got lots of 1/4 ounce 3/0 heads and glue.. Carl W 1
Champ188 Posted April 14, 2017 Posted April 14, 2017 Donna throws a swimbait a LOT so I've done my share of looking for the right heads, and the best I've come across is the War Eagle Grubber. It has a single cable weed guard, a double keeper system that will hold just about any swimbait firmly in place without glue, and they have strong VMC hooks. They come in 3/16, 1/4, 3/8 and 1/2 ounce and are sold in 3-packs for around $5. They work exceptionally well with the 3.8 and 4.3 Keitech Fat Swing Impact, as well as the Keitech Easy Shiner. http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/War_Eagle_Grubber_Weedless_Swimbait_Head/descpage-WEGRB.html vernon, Donna G, magicwormman and 2 others 5
Carl W Posted April 14, 2017 Posted April 14, 2017 I have fished them both on underspins and unpainted jig heads. Most of them I don't think it matters but sometimes I think the underspin helps. I usually try both. Thanks Champ for the jig head help. Donna G 1
edyer Posted April 14, 2017 Posted April 14, 2017 I caught a bunch of fish on Table Rock throwing a 2.8 or 3.3 Keitech using a 3/16 round ball jig that I bought from the Tackle Shop in Springfield, just a little south of bass Pro. Fin and Feather I think was the name of the store. All three kinds of bass up to over 4 pounds, and even two bonus walleyes over 20 inches. Quillback, Champ188 and Donna G 3
Bill Babler Posted April 14, 2017 Posted April 14, 2017 Try finding that much true information anywhere else. The underspin is always good early in the season. It is not going as good right now, Use the other methods. Carry On. Daryk Campbell Sr and Donna G 2 http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
