Quillback Posted April 19, 2017 Posted April 19, 2017 What brand/size do you use for the 2.8 Keitech? I am not getting many bites on the 3.8, and the heads I have for those are too big.
m&m Posted April 19, 2017 Posted April 19, 2017 QB, I just ordered some 2.8 fat and already have the 2.8 skinny ones. I was using an under spin but I put a couple of the skinny ones on Dave's heads. I'm anxious to see them work. Mike big c 1
Macsimus Posted April 19, 2017 Posted April 19, 2017 Power Finesse Shroomz might be an option? "There was a time that I didn't fish, but I cannot remember it."
Champ188 Posted April 19, 2017 Posted April 19, 2017 Dave's heads work awesome. Used them this time last year for early-season chasers. Works best for me on a spinning rod with 6-pound BPS Excel mono. Carl W, Royal Blue, Quillback and 3 others 6
Longball22 Posted April 19, 2017 Posted April 19, 2017 +1 on Dave's heads, 1/8oz. if they're shallow or 3/16oz. if you're trying to get a bit deeper. Cut the round nose off of the Keitech so it sits flush against the mushroom head. The only drawback I can see to this is that on occasion they take it pretty deep with that smaller hook, but not often enough to deter me.
Bill Babler Posted April 19, 2017 Posted April 19, 2017 Keitech sells a 3/16th. Round ball tungsten head that is designed to go with their baits. It has a black nickel Diiachi hook. It is the standard to compare any other with if you want to pony up and use them. The head is about the size of a normal 1/8th. and is painted GP, that hook is just about as sticky as they get and then some. I believe it has a 3/0 size on the hook. What ever the frig it is, it is deadly on any of their baits up to 4.2 If I hang one up I make every possible effort short of doning scuba gear to retrieve it. mixermarkb, Quillback, crazy4fishin and 1 other 4 http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
IL Fisherman Posted April 19, 2017 Posted April 19, 2017 I'll second Bill's Kietch heads. Stuck one of those hooks in the end of a finger. Darn sharp glad the barb did not go in.
top_dollar Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 That ned rig head is hard to beat for the 2.8" fat. Personally i go with a 1/16th, 3/32, or 1/8 ball jead jig. No collar, with a light wire #1 or #2 hook. Thats the perfect jig for the 2.8 fats and 3 skinnies. Need some super glue. The little hook saves the bait from getting torn up as much, and im a believer that smaller hooks give your plastics better action. No collar on the jig also saves it from getting ripped up. Carl W 1
