Hydro 205 Posted July 25, 2017 Posted July 25, 2017 Anybody else watch this? They had a few shots from the strip. And from the air. But other than that nothing looked the same. The Blue Cat Lodge which is supposed to look like Alhonna has nothing in common. They were pumping gas in the middle of the day on July 4th weekend. Water just as calm. Every shot of the lake there were no docks to be seen. They did make the gentlemans quarters look better though. Lol evilcatfish 1
MOsmallies Posted July 25, 2017 Posted July 25, 2017 I've only watched the first episode so far but I've been looking forward to this series since I heard about it a year or two ago. I heard only a little bit of it was filmed at LOZ. The majority was filmed in Georgia on Lake Allatoona because of tax credits. Apparently a lot of shows/movies film in Georgia for this reason. First episode was good and I've heard good things about the rest. Always been a fan of Jason Bateman. Here's an article with some information... https://www.bustle.com/p/where-is-ozark-filmed-the-netflix-series-faithfully-recreates-the-rustic-region-70975
M_Taylor Posted July 25, 2017 Posted July 25, 2017 About 5 episodes in. I like it, my wife is on the fence. Overall I think it's well done. The bustle article there is incorrect in that none of the show is filmed in the Ozarks, but I get their point. Tax incentives matter, and therefore business went elsewhere to film it.
evilcatfish Posted July 25, 2017 Posted July 25, 2017 If I hadn't just started the original Twin Peaks series I'd already be watching this. Have heard mostly positive reviews from friends and coworkers
fishinwrench Posted July 25, 2017 Posted July 25, 2017 I'm one of those that just can't sit in front of a TV for more than a few minutes unless it REALLY captures me right away. So as soon as it isn't going to bother someone I'd love to hear/read some spoilers. MOPanfisher 1
Old plug Posted July 25, 2017 Posted July 25, 2017 I have watched most of the first season. What angers me is the way they make locales look like a lot of silly people living in shacks. Thats why thses summer city peole think they own the whole place lock stock and barrel. They think they can come out here and do what ever they please.
fishinwrench Posted July 25, 2017 Posted July 25, 2017 I'm perfectly happy as a silly hillbilly livin' in my shack. I prefer that City folk think I'm slower than I really am, works out great for me. 😉 I think the correct term is "sandbagging". snagged in outlet 3, evilcatfish, grizwilson and 2 others 5
snagged in outlet 3 Posted July 25, 2017 Posted July 25, 2017 I talk to people all over the country daily. It's easy to think some good ole boy with a heavy accent is a rube. Wrong!!
Hydro 205 Posted July 26, 2017 Author Posted July 26, 2017 I liked it. Last episode will. BLow you away. They still haven't renewed for season 2 yet. I guess they are waiting to see what the ratings are.
Members troywaukee Posted July 26, 2017 Members Posted July 26, 2017 The wife and I watched the first episode. It's not her cup of tea, but I didn't mind it. Weird to see Jason Bateman not in a comedy. You are correct though, very few scenes shot at the lake, which is sad. If there are future seasons, I hope the producers can shift more production to the lake.
