Will S. Posted September 14, 2017 Posted September 14, 2017 I have NO experience with the water turn over on Table Rock. I know what it is, but don't know how it affects fishing. Will the fish follow the water temp or just shut down completely for a while ? Any discussion helpful. Thanks.

Thanks. you will see small bubbles coming up all over. you can also see it on your electronics. it makes diagonal marks. what is causing those is the air bubbles are being detected. most often the O2 is dminished in these areas and any bass there are not often active. what gets fall turnover started is the cooling of the surface temps. it will begin to push the thermocline deeper until there is enough mass on top of it to push through and then the water flipflops and the gasses in the bottom layer come up through the water column. the water normally has a funny discolor to it and you will also bits of gunk floating on the surface. you have to fish above or below turnover to be very successful catching bass. once it is complete the food and bass can be anywhere in the water column. bo bobby b., cheesemaster, vernon and 3 others 5 1
dblades Posted September 14, 2017 Posted September 14, 2017 I don't think it usually happens lake wide at once so you can find area not affected. cheesemaster, Hunter53 and Will S. 2 1

I think it is starting... Seen bubbles in several places yesterday. I read that Beaver Lake has started as well.

We caught a few, but the 3 keepers were the kind that you almost had to step on to make them keepers.
Will S. Posted September 14, 2017 Author Posted September 14, 2017 Yesterday we were from H.I. marina to near Eagle Rock. Fishing was slow.. Only a couple of short Spots. Too windy for me..
176champion Posted September 14, 2017 Posted September 14, 2017 I put in at Big M yesterday at about 1 pm and only saw i wake boat and 1 cruiser on the water and that was around 2:30 pm...Big M parking lot was empty, water temp was around 77 degrees water visibility was maybe 2 foot deep and yes it was windy but as they say the wind is your friend. I know everything about nothing and know nothing about everything! Bruce Philips
MoCarp Posted September 14, 2017 Posted September 14, 2017 usually going up stream on feeder creeks can get you in areas that the fish will bite during a turn over situation..I know it screws up the fishing for a while....didn't think it would happen this early...but this isn't a normal year ether MONKEYS? what monkeys?

Royal Blue Posted September 14, 2017 Posted September 14, 2017 We put in at Mill Creek and fished a bunch of our usual spots. It's funny that you had it too windy. We had glass for 2/3 of the morning and I'd been really hoping for some wind.
