Dutch Posted September 28, 2017 Posted September 28, 2017 I fished Wed. from Hartley to above High Point. Only 3 rigs at Hartley and looked like maybe 3 at Cedar Ridge and 1 at High Point. Probably saw less than 10 boats total. The post cold front fishing was tough. No bites on jigs and only a Couple on Ned. 10 fish managed with 2 keeps on spinner baits. Fished miles of places and all fish came from 3 small very windy spots just on the lee side of points. Daryk Campbell Sr, wtr dogs, blacknoseddace and 2 others 3 1 1
MrGiggles Posted September 28, 2017 Posted September 28, 2017 I fished some Tuesday, I thought it would be the last good day for a while with the temperature drop incoming. Got a late start and went right to trolling, my previous hot spots were vacant, tried a new area that looked good and caught an 11" crappie and an 18" walleye just before dark. I was the only one at Master's. I may go tonight if I have time. -Austin
MrGiggles Posted September 29, 2017 Posted September 29, 2017 The bite was a lot better than I expected. Had 6 or 7 short crappie, 3 keepers, and a 17" walleye in 2 hours. -Austin
zarraspook Posted September 30, 2017 Posted September 30, 2017 Went up for 3 hrs today (1500-1800hrs) because, The lack of post COULD be because, the older troops are slaying them and don't want competition !!! WRONG ... We had two hits -- a 2.5lb channel cat and a 4lb drum.... Fished from 8 to 35 fow with 40 lbs of assorted tackle.. Water temp was 78 main lake and 84 in quiet coves.. WRONG .... That is a good point ZARA. It is buth true and false. Our sociity is in a big hurry today. Really to me there only main three things that count RIGHT PLACE, RIGHT TIME and RIGHT WAY. I used to know a fisherman who kept so many notes about his fishing trips, I think he finally got a computer to take care of them. He believed in that system and maybe still does. Well he went on to win a Walmart championship. I am not certain it was the notes as much as all the notes reminding him of the right time, right place and right way. The point here is he was taking a lot of time to study the things that really matter in sports fishing. You got to hook those 3 paramount of fishing together to be consistantly successful. Then there is presintation and retrieve. If these are wrong all the rights in th world might be worthless. If there os any secrets being held us old guys this might be where most of them are. And yes I will confess I do ,and I believe most of us old folks protect our spots. We also practice good conservation and treatment of our catch. . Members Ricochet15 Posted October 1, 2017 Members Posted October 1, 2017 Gave it a shot Friday from about 3pm to 7pm had 14 bass. All were in the 13-15" range and all of them came out of about 2ft of water. Not grouped up,trolling motor on pretty high covered lots of water. All but 2 off a buzzbait the others shakey head. Could not buy a bite on anything else. Tried from 30ft to the bank. bassfisher 1
