fishinwrench Posted December 20, 2017 Posted December 20, 2017 Speaking of dinosaurs, do any of you have a use for this ? If so I'll send it to ya. I'll never use it. A trigger either feels good or it doesn't, I don't care to know what its pull weighs.
Gavin Posted December 20, 2017 Posted December 20, 2017 Nope, a trigger feels good or it does not. Trigger on the Benjamin is not very good. Put 10 or so rounds through it when the gals & neighbors were out on Sunday, and I do not like the trigger. Shoots well for never being on paper. Put an X on a pizza box at 20 yards and fired 3 standing...a bit low and to the left, half dollar sized group. Tossed a can out there and shot it around the yard. Hits mostly. Does not seem bad out of the box.
stinger160 Posted December 20, 2017 Posted December 20, 2017 Love the out of the box thinking here. Makes the shooting a lot more fun, but watch those gut shots dinos! can't add much technical knowledge to the conversation. i've been using a cheap daisy powerline 880 to deal with a squirrel/pest problem. In the first year, I killed 77 and scared a bunch more. I was surprised how accurate the little gun was. Now considering upgrading but haven"t pulled the trigger yet. Probably will be looking for advice from you guys!
fishinwrench Posted December 20, 2017 Posted December 20, 2017 That was NOT a gut shot on that Brach ! The shot angle was such that the pellet entry point insured an immediate heart explosion. That sucker dropped like a sack of hammers. snagged in outlet 3 1
Ketchup Posted December 20, 2017 Author Posted December 20, 2017 Well, i went with the Hatsan 125 in 25cal. Ordered the JSB Match Diabolo in 25.39 gr. Im excited about the gas ram VS springers i have. Seen some nasty reviews about the gun, but lots of great reviews. Only way to know is try it. Looking forward to the punch. The last 2 tree monkeys i shot, perfect head shots behind the ears, both i had to finish off by hand. Pretty sure i wont have that issue with the 25 cal with those 25 grain pellets. If so i will try the 31.02 grain H&N. TinBoats BassClub. An aluminum only bass club. If interested in info send me a PM.

Ketchup Posted December 20, 2017 Author Posted December 20, 2017 It will be here friday. A quick sight in session, and off to the trees Saturday i go. Thats after a good cleaning straight out of the box. Wanted the walnut stock, but got the poly. That new Hawke scope should put me above average on the fun scale. fishinwrench 1 TinBoats BassClub. Ketchup Posted December 22, 2017 Author Posted December 22, 2017 Well stopped by the house at lunch and just happened to pull up same time as Fed-Ex. Took it inside, opened pellets. 1st notice was "these things are huge compared to .177". Noticed the edge of the tin was damaged. Opened up tin and slight look noticed almost every pellet where damaga was, was bent up.... The box the gun was in appeared to have been tossed about. Pretty beat up from shipment i assume. Open box and notice scope was just laying in there. Not in a seperate box, nothing like all my others. The gun was laying in there in plastic with no foam or anything to stop it from getting beat up. Noticed lots of red colored stuff on gun. It wiped off pretty easily. Took pictures, leaned it against the wall, and back to work....Man im hoping i dont have to send it back like lots of other have had to do. With those shipping packaging practices, i see why things get screwed up. The gun itself is heavy and appears to be nicely made. Resembles a real gun in weight/length/feel/blueing. Now lets hope the gun performs after a conplete scrubbing. TinBoats BassClub. An aluminum only bass club. If interested in info send me a PM.
fishinwrench Posted December 22, 2017 Posted December 22, 2017 WTH? Who'd you order it from? Not cool at all, I'd be pissed. Pyramyd Air always ships pellets completely enclosed in foam. Hopefully it lived through it and you don't have to deal with any returns. What scope came with it ?
Ketchup Posted December 22, 2017 Author Posted December 22, 2017 Amazon, via straight from Hatsan on the gun "so it says". The pellets the same say Webyshops. In the hand the damage to the can protrudes in 3/4" on the top dent and close to that on the bottom. Just guessing probably 50 damaged. Going to seperate them this evening. Its a 3-9x40 Optima scope. Not going to even mount it as i ordered the Hawke to put on this gun. Seriously couldnt believe the way the gun/scope was packaged. What a flippin joke!!!! My Crosman pellets i ordered on Amazon came bubble wrapped inside a padded envelope. Just not my day for ordering i guess. This is why i mentioned on the other post, Im not much of an order online guy. TinBoats BassClub. An aluminum only bass club. If interested in info send me a PM.
