The only way to control this affliction, and to have a happy life, is to find/build a gun that suits your needs.....and then STOP LOOKING !!!! I married my beloved PRod. She's good to me, and I'm not fooling around on her. 😅 It is a good thing you are so committed and hardheaded because there are amazing things out there that if you shoot them might cause a divorce. Not from sugar britches but will cause you to stray from your beloved P-Rod. I thought I was happy with what I had until my uncle started bringing his various air projectile pushers. This caused me to stray and end up with what I have. I am really satisfied, really, really, really. I am not a target shooter but will just shoot some to stay sharp. I am a hunter . Ketchup Posted October 10, 2022 Author Posted October 10, 2022 BH, at almost $2000 with optics, i better start eating rice and beans again. Just did some reading on it and there are tons of features that could easily convince me to twist my own arm. 😁 18 rounds in 22cal, 145 shots per fill, 480cc air tank and 250 bar is enough for me to ask Santa. Just some food for thought. Be sure to shoot mine is you are willing. Any air rifle is easy to choose the hard part as you might know, and Wrench has mentioned is air storage and compressor. Before getting a compressor think hard about a good tank and getting filled at a paintball facility if you have one close that will to 4500 psi. Most scuba shops will only do 3000 psi which will not do you any good. There is or was one in Springfield that would do the 4500 psi, but he is hard to get ahold of. Ketchup Posted October 10, 2022 Author Posted October 10, 2022 So looking around, air tanks are anywhere from $150 to $600. A nice compressor is $300 to $600. Would it not be the way to go to buy the compressor so you can charge the gun at any given time while at home? Maybe buy the compressor and later get a tank if needed for taking to away day shoots? I’m going to buy something “pcp gun wise” and want to take the correct route. TinBoats BassClub. An aluminum only bass club. If interested in info send me a PM.

To my knowledge nobody fires up the compressor just to top the rifle off. The air from the compressor is kinda hot I think. And probably not what you want to directly fill the rifle. Because as it cools there's going to be condensation....and you don't want that in your gun. Right Billethead ? Ketchup 1
Ketchup Posted October 10, 2022 Author Posted October 10, 2022 Well crud, guess i will hop on YT and see exactly how this stuff happens. Sounds like i will need a gun, compressor and tank. Looks like i might be selling my sandrail buggy sooner than later. Nice thing is, is that once the jab of buying the tank and compressor are over, then any pcp gun will be ready to go. fishinwrench 1 TinBoats BassClub. An aluminum only bass club. So yes, you can direct fill with compressor and there are ones out there very portable and can be ran on 12 volts. My Uncle does it all the time. I think about all of them have water separators, moisture filters and some automatic self-draining water traps. Compressors are a slippery slope. Much more than the rifle. They work so hard to make high pressure and there are some that do not last long, and need rebuilt from time to time. The Chinese Yong Heng is relatively cheap, and I have one and replaced the piston twice. Parts come on the slow boat from China though. I bit the bullet (pellet) and bought a better Scuba compressor finally. Have a decommissioned SCBA tank I keep filled. Do your research @Ketchup before buying. This is why I suggested the bigger tank route first IF you can get a fill station close. With the better PCP air rifle, you get so many shots with a good full tank it will give you time for research getting the compressor. oneshot 1 Posted October 10, 2022 Posted October 10, 2022 I had never shot an Air Rifle until the other day. They are just as loud as a .22 so continue using. 22. Which I have found hard to do with one hand especially if I have to wait on a Squirrel to come around where I can get a shot. oneshot

Some break-barrel guns are as loud as dropping a wrench in a toolbox, but pumpers and PCP guns are quieter than cracking open a canned soda. Matter of fact, the sound of a pellet hitting a squirrel head is louder than the sound the gun makes. "Whop!" 😁 I Just love that sound. 👍
