Hojo Posted December 26, 2017 Posted December 26, 2017 I have a 2001 Supreme 20 ft with a 25 hp Mercury that I need to get rid of. I bought it from the original owner about 10 years ago, and I only get to use it 2-3 times a year....(it was only out once in 2017). The boat and trailer are both in pretty good shape, but the seats could use replacing. Any thoughts on what I could get out of it? 479-445-0490. Jeff Maberry 1
fishinwrench Posted December 26, 2017 Posted December 26, 2017 What would you like to get out of it ? What offer would you gladly accept, and what offer would you pass on?
Hojo Posted December 26, 2017 Author Posted December 26, 2017 I don't think I could turn down $4k for it, but unsure if that's realistic. I don't see many for sale so I haven't found anything to compare it to.

Hojo Posted December 26, 2017 Author Posted December 26, 2017 42". Bottom has normal scratches, no patches.
fishinwrench Posted December 26, 2017 Posted December 26, 2017 A 2000-2003 Merc 25 w/electric start will sell for 800-1000 depending on how clean and unscathed the skeg, prop and lower unit looks. Since yours has set for awhile it needs about 250.00 worth of "freshening up" (if you can do it yourself you can save 150.00) If it's not electric start then knock off another 250.00 It's kind of a kick in the nuts that a 1972 Johnson will sell for more.... but that's the way it is. Being a Mercury more than 7 years old that means that there are already a bunch of NLA (no longer available) parts for it. Shifting and throttle components being among them. The most frequent issue with those 20-25 Merc's is the lower cowling seal that allows exhaust fumes into the enclosed cowling and when that seal degrades from exposure to fuel the motor runs rough and can't be tuned. The replacement seal is NLA from Mercury so one either has to be made, or you have to run the motor with the cowling removed so the motor can breathe fresh air.

Ham Posted December 28, 2017 Posted December 28, 2017 You ought to be able to get 3K and maybe more if it is really clean. Just have to see what the market will bear. grizwilson 1 Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish
