Members Lonnie Morgan
Any nody catchin any yet? In this cold water, what is the best way to fish. Would you start on mud flats or deep holes?
rps
I can tell you what we do here on Tablerock. Go upriver to the riverine section. Jerkbait fished exquisitely slow or light jig head with a light colored Tiny Fluke. Third choice would be a Ned rig. terryj1024 and Royal Blue
Members Lonnie Morgan
Jerk bait on surface or under water? Going to learn this method this year. Did I hear ROOKIE?
rps
A reasonable start point would be a Spro McStick 110 in Dirty Bone or Cell Mate. When it lands, reel five cranks to get it down. Then move it a foot after every 30 second count, Quillback
duckydoty
I use mega bass 110+1’s. I work my way up stream slowly. Very slow! I stay in 27-30 feet of water and cast up on to the flat fishing the roll off of the old river channel. Concentrate on the upper and lower ends of the small creek cuts. Work like rps said. Phil audio recorded and posted on here a walleye seminar with Buster Loving a few years ago on walleye fishing Upper Bull Shoals. Lots of good info there. I’ve been trying to dial it in 4 years now. I have good days and bad days but I’ve been starting to have more good than bad. Royal Blue, Quillback, JestersHK and 4 others 6 1 A Little Rain Won't Hurt Them Fish.....They're Already Wet!! RSBreth
I'll just add, most of the time when you think you are working a suspending jerkbait too slow this time of year - you're still working it too fast. Rob P
