Did y'all watch the "park meeting"?   It was on Facebook live the other night.

Sounds like they have a load of 3 pounders and 37 brood stock females to dump on opening day, then it'll be 10-12 inchers until July because they have to hold back some better sized fish for the Urban city boy program.   So after July it will be all dinks.   The fish, once they reach 10.5", are only growing 1/4-1/2" per year.

As for the river:   They quit stocking at NRO supposedly.  Prosperine gets a few early in the year, after that trout will only be stocked at Barclay and the 64 access, and they will stock monthly unless the river is extremely low....or high and muddy.   They claim that population surveys indicate that 80% of the fish are being caught and kept within 14 days of being stocked, which, if that's true, tells me that they are only stocking about 200 (or less) instead of the reported 5-800

A multi-million dollar redhorse hatchery in the near future wouldn't surprise me.  As soon as they get tired of trying to eradicate the evasive mustard greens then maybe that'll be next.
