while on this subject of Bfer disrespect here is some pics sent to me on violations on LBL this January (Town Lake) in Austin Texas

rules there limit one common over 33" and you can only shoot a longbow (too many people/structures on this narrow water) the goal is to pound down the water before the Big ATC carp tourney in march. anyone who has fished this venue recognize that skyline, I was blessed to live near that fishing hole when I lived north Of San Antonio and since it had the tougher regs placed on it Bfers just hammerd it and flaunted the new regulations, now what was a water that produced 40# class state record fish you are lucky to break 25# the lake is not the fishery it once was 10 years ago,

I can tell you a push is being made to document violations, the practices of shot.slit and release are common here in the ozarks, most Bfers don't care, you can only "harvest" 20 native "rough" fish, they shoot till they are tired of shooting

I have personally seen walleyes Bfed, hard not to see them there eyes glow yards away, twacking a 12# walleye just chaps my hide, I can't blame COs because who wants to have to get up at 2 in the morning to go chase down a boat thats long gone?

maybe I am just too old, but back in the day, if you killed it you ate it, I bet if people composted deer or any other Game animal people would get salty

but you can grow a 8 point buck in 3 years 4 years tops, it takes 10 years to grow a 25# common carp 50 years for a huge alligator gar, I can post Bfed beavers, deer, armadillos, bass, walleyes , hell even Muskies

now everyone has a HD camera on there phone, people just need to use it and start reporting

Oh boy here we go again!  Harry,

First of all bowfishing is fun. I gave it up because I had to. If I could I would start again just to aggregate you some by posting pictures :D. Actually wouldn't want those nasty things in my boat all shot up. So lets see here. Second that kid that shot the bass. There is no way that is six pounds. If it is you may want to get your eyes checked, I am kind of worried about your eyesight. Third Some bucket biologist not knowing what he was doing introduced Black Bass to Africa just like some not so smart people did carp to the states. I suppose Black bass will become naturalized to Africa and that will make it OK?

Do you really think that if common carp were not introduced years ago and the dilemma came up now we would let this happen? Of course not. It has been so nice you have backed off a bit. Take it back I am not so worried about you. You must be feeling better as lets say what would you call it? You are getting salty again :)

Why would I care what the hell anyone in South Africa does? Or Connecticut? Quit trying to shove this carp stupidity down everyone's throats and I'll quit promoting bowfishing.

I have still seen ZERO carp fisherman while I'm out. Oh yeah, they all say they are catfishing, I forgot.

Black Bass are listed as one of the most invasive fishing in he world, but people love them and like carp, were spread world wide, I am sure the people in California are grateful Florida LMB were stocked back in the day as far as being naturalized it is neither good or bad, it just is, just like people of european descent are naturalized here in North America.

if the same conditions like a post civil war reconstruction, or zombie apocalypse then yep, things would get done so people could subsist off wild gathered foods, in fact I'd bet a Kudzu GMO would get planed everywhere if it fed enough people.

yeah its been the off season and have been doing some carp research and writing for other projects, yet I promised as I would post the common carp protection regulations as they happened if I remember I was told ("snowballs chance in hell?") yet here we are.

I am and thank you...I am looking forward getting afield in 2018, not just carping, but perhaps some smallmouth fishing as well, then there are those slab sized sunfish too. just hope we don't see the flooding this year like we have had in the past so far it doesn't look good

no but we see you;)

like I said it pays for us to keep a low profile, one reason so much carp kit sold here in the USA is camo

last time we had a carp tourney here in SW Missouri we had 20- two man teams, could have had more but didn't have enough swims pegged are we as numerous as crappie anglers- nope , at least not yet
