oneshot Posted March 8, 2018 Posted March 8, 2018 Is it just me or is it just too crowded below the Dam when they are running water? Even in a Boat it is Wall to Wall. Plus I have to drive 1o miles one way. oneshot
Terrierman Posted March 8, 2018 Posted March 8, 2018 Wow, ten whole miles. It's only crowded when people think it will be good. You should only go when you think there is no chance and the crowds will be a lot smaller I bet. bfishn 1
oneshot Posted March 8, 2018 Author Posted March 8, 2018 Well I like going on down but mostly like staying on the Main Lake, seems most Locals stay on the Lake. Yea 10 miles but it adds up . oneshot

LoweSTX175 Posted March 9, 2018 Posted March 9, 2018 Last weekend I just stayed around Cole Camp/Turkey Creek. Depends on what you are fishing for. Several I know were catching whites and hybrids up next to the dam. Lots of people were catching limits of crappie bouncing around MM 80 hitting brush. All the female crappie I cleaned had eggs starting up. So the crappie are about ready to start hitting.
MOPanfisher Posted March 9, 2018 Posted March 9, 2018 It will be crowded down around Cole Camp/Turkey Creek next weekend. The snaggers will be thick. But that don't hurt the fishing, might make it tougher to find a parking spot though. grizwilson 1

Woke up opening morning it was raining, called my Brother in Law, told him I wasn't getting out in the rain, went back to bed. He calls up later says it might quit by the time I get over there. I eat Breakfast and went. Get over there, such a line. I told him forget it we're going to Osceola. Get over there, unload the Boat. I was counting on Him and His wife, seems he had invited 7 others. So we had 11Big Adults in my Boat. Start Snagging Brother in Law says it is no good here lets go on up. Get to where the Sac and Osage come together. He says nope no good. We go all the way to Rosco, no Snagging. It is raining we are all cold. Brother in Law says you Guys get warm I'll run the Boad back to the Pickup and come back. FINE! We are setting at the Café, start eating he is back. ?????? That is fast. See the Boat is pulled up about a Foot too far on the Trailer. Found out later Brother in Law had run the Boat wide open all the way back, not caring about the other Boats. Like I told my Wife never again. oneshot

They'll mostly be on the main channel. You are correct that our community launch/parking lot will be packed. Worse case I'll launch then park at one of the neighbors then drive back with the golf cart. Either way at least the weather is going to be amazing this weekend.
