Members audiochem Posted March 28, 2018 Members Posted March 28, 2018 It never fails. I tell my father (who lives in Ohio) about all the great fishing we have and when he comes out, we get biblical floods. Dad will be here Friday/Saturday and I was just wondering if anyone knows what the lake looks like? Is there any clear or stained water available? Predictions on what it will look like this weekend? Also, he's getting up in years, so I would prefer to do some trolling. Anyone doing anything dragging flickers around? Any info is much appreciated. Thanks
STLbassbuster Posted March 28, 2018 Posted March 28, 2018 Current lake level is 870.21. I don't think the rising water will hurt the fishing.
Lvn2Fish Posted March 28, 2018 Posted March 28, 2018 I bet you will be able to find clean water , dirty water, and everything in between
liphunter Posted March 28, 2018 Posted March 28, 2018 My plan is to go Friday. I will probably launch at Ruark and decide what to do from there. I I would like to go over to CC, but unless I here something favorable about the water conditions there. I probably won't. Either way I will let you know what I see. Luck is where preparation meets opportunity...... Or you could just flip a coin???
Members riverman Posted March 29, 2018 Members Posted March 29, 2018 Liphunter Turnback was up and brown on Wednesday when I crossed it. It did not appear to be rolling. Clam pool south of 160 just brown liphunter 1
Lifes2Short Posted March 29, 2018 Posted March 29, 2018 We were up Wednesday and fished out of Mutton Creek and did not see any dirty water, including the backs of any coves or creeks we were in. We caught a number of fish on crankbaits, jigs and spinnerbaits. Couldn’t get but one crappie to hit and no walleye this trip. Water temps were 48 to 50. Tight Lines!
dan hufferd Posted March 29, 2018 Posted March 29, 2018 I would stay north of Mutton Creek but with the water warming, who knows? liphunter 1
Members markgrantham Posted March 29, 2018 Members Posted March 29, 2018 I fished Sons Creek yesterday (Wednesday) and it was much clearer as compared to the cc/turnback area. liphunter, oghfm and dan hufferd 1 2
waterpossum Posted March 29, 2018 Posted March 29, 2018 The water from 215 N. is running in the 49-50 degree range. We had 4 keeper walleye last night from 7:50-8:50 stick baiting a main lake point. There are crappie to be found in the deep corp. brushpiles. Water is clear in that area.
MOPanfisher Posted March 29, 2018 Posted March 29, 2018 Beats me, I had my 4th blank night last night. Nothing to show in the last 4 tries but a meanmouth. I have lost my Fishing Foo somehow.
