If you read that link to COE regulations I posted earlier, it seems to defer to state laws regarding alcohol.  I think if you are of age a beer is  fine in the camp ground.  Probably also in a boat.  Just don't drive the boat intoxicated, but there again is a state controlled regulation.

And I would personally appreciate it if you didn't hoop, hollar and spin in your fishing seat like that chick I saw yesterday!  Saw my first jet ski yesterday also.  Stand by for the skiers.😖

Someone mentioned the VA.  Totally different animal.  Don't know about that.

I am old enough to remember when you would almost never see a jet ski or a pleasure boat pulling a skier or tuber. You would see a bass boat or lake jon pulling tubers when the fam came to the lake, but that was it. Honestly, it is a miracle that Stockton isn't busier. Such beautiful shoreline and big coves shielded from the wind.

Yeah.  I predate the jet ski too.  Most everything else, in fact.  I watched them building the dam.  I recall a time before people learned to steal from boats!

I have not seen anything suspicious at Master's or Cedar Ridge. Those are the only ramps that I really use. Never had anything fooled with on my truck. 

In fact one day after putting in I noticed a safety chain had come loose and was dragging, I left it alone and figured I would get it on the way out. When I came back later a good Samaritan had hooked it back for me. 

Then again, I tend to stay pretty late in the summer, many times I'm the last one to leave the ramp.

There is lots of loop holes in this whole gun carry deal, i believe i read somewhere that you can have a gun in your tent. There has been several debates about this in congress trying to make it legal to carry on COE land . I read for a couple hours this weekend so i may be all confused, that's what happens when you get old...lol.

Oh man I would prefer to stay out of this will attempt to clarify a few things.

First lights at boat ramps.  Most of those light are probably solar powered, as such the laws of physics come into play with how much light can be produced with a given set up.  Throw in the fact that over a certain $ cost it becomes a logistical nightmare to purchase relatively low cost items without going through many hoops and greatly increasing the cost and time required to procure.  The system in place for purchasing is changing but it is slow.  Some of the solar set ups are designed to come on say at dark and go off at daylight, that is fairly rare, since if the light is very bright it takes more power and quickly drains the batteries, which will kill them in a short time.  Others put out less light and will last longer, better technology allows for a step down to lower power use unless movement is detected, then it will go to full power again.  New technology as always is more expensive, see above comments on purchasing stuff.

Firearms.  It is a rule within Title 36 CFR that prohibits the carry of firearms on COE properties outside Law Enforcement, hunting, or at designated shooting ranges.  It is not a state law.  The best I can say is be patient, the wheels are turning to update Title 36 CFR.  However as with all things Government the wheels turn slowly, it is expected that the change will essentially mirror the state laws in effect for each lake, however won't know until it is published for comment in the federal register.
