Members TX-Champ-196 Posted May 9, 2018 Members Posted May 9, 2018 Hello All Have enjoyed reading all the reports here for years. Thanks to all who contribute! I'm a Texan headed to the Rock for over a week begining next Thursday. My mother lives in Shell Knob, and I lived in Springfield in the 80's, so I'm no stranger to the area. I rented a houseboat in Kimberling City for a whole week, and will have my Champion in tow. Have no problem going from one end of the lake to the other. But, I'm partial to fishing the south end around Cow, and have spent a lot of time in the Kings River area as well. So here is my question... If I wanted to be close to the best fishing week after next, what area of the lake should I concentrate my efforts? ps; If you see a this boat, feel free to stop and say hello! Ketchup Posted May 9, 2018 Posted May 9, 2018 Good looking rig...Probably those areas that you are familiar with. There are fishing just about everywhere right now. Shallow/deep, rock/gravel, points/swings, etc. You have plenty of time to search your first full day and repeat the other 6. Hit Aunts Creek area. TinBoats BassClub. An aluminum only bass club. If interested in info send me a PM.
magicwormman Posted May 9, 2018 Posted May 9, 2018 Welcome home! It really depends on what you want to catch. LM, SM, or spots. Coming from Texas you might want to target SM or spots, as our Lm quality is not what is was in the 80's. If that's the case Big Cow would be my choice.

Bill Babler Posted May 10, 2018 Posted May 10, 2018 Read the forum, there are reports hot and heavy. Were seeing 50 topwater bite days up the White to huge swimbait days midlake. Right now I don't think you can find a bad location. What Magic said was very true however if your looking for brown fish and lots of them concentrate from Campbell Pt. to Long Creek on the White. However those beauties that Quill posted up the White just shows they are everywhere. magicwormman 1 http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com

Based on the other reports, and what y'all recommended in this thread, looks like I won't be traveling far from Kimberling City. You can catch all the LM you want in Texas, but them Brownies are few and far between down here. Guess I'll be chasing them next week! Time to lay down the broom sticks and pick up my pixie sticks. It's gonna be a hot and busy one out there this weekend. Be Safe! crazy4fishin 1
eyedabassman Posted May 26, 2018 Posted May 26, 2018 You may want to fish late or at night to avoid the nuts!
