And they busted 3 jet skis for running after dark, and some others for speeding after dark! I could hear some of the talking from the cop from my deck! And one jet ski had 2 adults and one small kid and doing circles at high speed! Not smart and the cop thought so too! He towed them to there dock! Thank you Water Patrol. NOT an easy or safe job. PLEASE spend some time down from Cape Fair around Piney. Never seen ignorance/arrogance like this past weekend. Where is the Corps of Engineers on limiting boat size on Federal land/waterways? I'm generally a low tax/limiting tax kind of person, but I'm starting to think an Environmental Impact Tax on wakeboard boats and anything over so many feet that displaces a certain volume of water causing environmental damage to our public waterways maybe in order. If you don't want to be taxed, take your stupidity to Lake of the Ozarks. eyedabassman 1
196champ Posted May 30, 2018 Posted May 30, 2018 Unfortunately its not just the wake boats, i understand it was a Holiday weekend but when you can have a conversation with another speaking in normal tone, your way to close. Had a bass tracker troll within 10 yards of me Sunday morning near Shell Knob, even had the audacity to ask how the fishing has been! Boats running between the bank and me on gravel flats in 2' of water or less and just clueless about it. I never fished past 10:30 (except Tuesday morning) and this was going on in the early morning hours. Its hard to get mad as it is to be expected on a Holiday weekend but people need to learn to have a little respect and take a safety course. Did get to tow in a pontoon who blew their lower unit. "We ran a ground in the middle of the lake a few hours ago, not sure what happened...."
bobby b. Posted May 31, 2018 Author Posted May 31, 2018 Last year a guy saw me catching fish on the drop shot and he pull up within less than a boat length and when I said something to him to back off, he responded "Sorry, is my graph signal interfering with your graph". snagged in outlet 3 and Quillback 2
snagged in outlet 3 Posted May 31, 2018 Posted May 31, 2018 Happens on the rivers too. Last week had a guy drop in right below us and start fishing. Cut us right off. We had hammered them for a while already so we just left. Crazy!
Members marimac1944 Posted May 31, 2018 Members Posted May 31, 2018 Had a similar situation at Aunts creek , foggy went across from ramp. Heard loud music, then ski boat and skier came out of mist, just crazy. Another time, after early morning fishing rounded Pt 10 at 9:00 am heading to ramp, three boats running abreast, headed to point between aunts & little aunts and bounced around a while. Summer time, what a wonderful event, limit my time between Memorial & Labor Day, not worth the risk.
