Bo,

What are your thought's on recessed line ties/eyes? Seems like they help protect the knot a little from bouncing around in the rocks. Interested to hear if that's something you've ever considered in the design of your jigs.

how would they protect the knot, it is still on the end of the jig right?  your knot will still be the first thing sticking out.  so, in my opinion claiming a recessed eyelet protects the knot is not true.  plus, the eyelet is actually a lever to aid in rotation of the hook to vertical.  if you bury the eye, you lose that.  in all my years of fishing, i can not say that i have ever seen my knot damaged and the line ahead of it is not.

Was just asking as a lot of jig manufacturers have the recessed line tie nowadays. Just wanted your two cents if there was any merit in their claim of protecting the knot. I don't own any (90% of my jigs are Nutech's) but just wondered. Thanks for the response.

nothing like answering a question with a question😄.  i just shake my head at some of the claims made.  most of the time, it is strictly a claim without any proof of what they are claiming.  how is the catching down your way?  have not ventured down that way, but it is getting time to do so.

I'll be out there Friday night and through the weekend. More than likely will be fishing around the dam on both Friday and Saturday nights. Usually hang around  a mile or two in either direction from Pt. 2. I'll keep an eye out for ya. If you hear jigs hitting tin dock roofs in the dark with regularity......that's us.

abk, thanks for letting me know you’ll be down here this weekend. I’m gonna head to STL to avoid the flying jig heads around the dam. Good luck. I’ll be waiting to read the report and see the pictures.

Actually, I’m going to STL for the high school musical theater awards at the Fox, presented by the Fox Performing Arts Charitable Foundation. My daughter is the exec director of the foundation and they honor high school musical theater departments.
