Hi Folks, I have been looking for a source of local knowledge in the Ozarks, and this looks like the place. I'm a soon to be retired Texan and would like to spend some time relaxing and fishing in the Ozarks. I enjoy all kinds of fishing--from creeks to offshore including conventional and fly fishing and like to target stripers, largemouth and smallmouth bass, crappie, bluegill, and trout--pretty much anything that can tug on my line. I'm looking for recommendations for an old school clean and comfortable fishing resort with cabins on the banks of a great fishing lake. To keep my wife entertained, being within a couple of hours of Branson is probably a plus. Anyway, thanks for building such an active forum, and I look forward to participating.

Hey, thanks for the welcome. I've stayed on Taneycomo a couple of times and will again in the future so Lilley's is certainly a great suggestion. I'm also interested in cabins on one of the lakes in the region since I have a 22' center console that I'd consider trailering up. A lake cabin with a slip and also access to fly fishing for trout might be the ideal situation. Suggestions are welcome! I've been digging, but there are so many choices it's a bit overwhelming.

Old school resort, recently refurbished, upper end, slips, within 2 hours Branson: https://www.mapquest.com/us/missouri/fletchers-devils-dive-resort-353002535

Haven't been there but has a long reputation and I run by it when I am on the lake. Others may know more than I.

Stayed at Three Oaks Resort on Norfork last July and loved it. Reminded me of resorts I stayed at up north as a kid. Great location, owner was easy to work with, boat slip on private dock, awesome view. Cabins were clean, owner has been working on renovations. Plan on staying again soon. Was impressed with the quality of the fishery.

Calm Waters on Indian point has little A-frame cabins. Plus the owner Chris is an awesome dude, as well as a good fisherman. I was really impressed with how clean and updated the cabins are.
