A year and a half prior there was a lengthy inspection and the reported results were: "She's as strong as ever, still anchored solidly to bedrock, no concerns about earthquakes or sink holes, all leaks are intentional to relieve pressure and are controlled. Dam surface erosion is inevitable and is easily patched. No problems here at all". Now all of a sudden they're concerned about shifting and adding additional anchors. 🤔 Truman dam is the one that concerns me most. If that sucker went, just imagine the mess we'd have!
snagged in outlet 3 Posted September 6, 2018 Posted September 6, 2018 I was wondering if it was related to the difference you've noticed recently in the power pool level and drawing the lake down.

I don't think so, since all the work is being done from the back side. That would result in LESS release I would think. Nope, something changed after 2014 and the crew at Bagnell started sucking the lake down immediatly after Labor day and not allowing it to refill until right before Memorial day. All they seem to care about is what benefits the party tourists. Piss on the fishermen/sportsmen....as if they don't eat, sleep, buy fuel, and help support the economy too. It screws up the early Spring- spawn bite, and it screws up the shallow Fall bite.
Seth Posted September 7, 2018 Posted September 7, 2018 I'm glad to see that the biggest rain total estimates have shifted east. snagged in outlet 3 1

Quillback Posted September 7, 2018 Posted September 7, 2018 I'm fine with an inch or two. I was able to get the long dog walk in this morning which is a plus. Thought I would wake up to pouring down rain.

I guess they are afraid that if they seldom report anything dramatic that we'll quit watching and listening to them, and they'll lose their sponsors.
fishinwrench Posted September 7, 2018 Posted September 7, 2018 I really feel like we desperately need a 2 month long unrelenting flood. The rivers and creeks just keep getting lower and lower, and when they do come up because of one good shower they quickly fall right back down to lower than normal levels. Not enough ground water I guess.
