Who's going this year? I will be down there even if it is cold out!

"you can always beat the keeper, but you can never beat the post"

There are only three things in life that are certain : death, taxes, and the wind blowing at Capps Creek!

Maybe.. The winter trout C&R would have more interest to me if not limited to weekends, my trips are usually spur of the moment and I would have gone today. Weekends are often planned by or around family. The result is I might not go to RR at all through the winter.  Indian Creek or Big Sugar is open to C&R every day, so ...

Monday thru Thursday has always been good for crowd avoidance in the parks and on the rivers and I sorta have trouble thinking about fishing on weekends. I don't find weekday park users to be a problem as a rule, but I only use RRSP, other Parks may be different.  I'll bet there are about as many there Saturday as on most summer Wednesdays.

Smallmouth are there when it's dark, park closes, I'm more apt to stop half mile from home in winter months and do the hour drive to the park in the long summer days. It's all good though.  I just wonder why the weekdays aren't open, C&R is C&R. It's a rare weekend that She hasn't got me scheduled.

Yeah it never made sense to me either. Aren't there some spots outside of the park still? Been awhile since I tried that.

Oct through April was always when I would fish the Current river often well below Montauk looking for brown trout. Closer to my house than Bennett's or Roaring River and better fishing than could be had outside of Meramec Springs. I would prefer Weds. Often on a Weds in Feb I would have a three or four mile stretch of the river to myself :D!
