Members Bigfishes1 Posted December 21, 2018 Members Posted December 21, 2018 So I’ve got a couple days off starting Sunday and plan on a little striper fishing. My question is: If the Gov. shuts down will they close the COE ramps? If they close the COE ramps can I still put in at Ventris or maybe the 412 bridge?
Quillback Posted December 21, 2018 Posted December 21, 2018 As I understand it this is a partial shutdown which does not involve the Department of Defense. COE reports to the DOD, so I don't believe we will see any closures at COE facilities. But I could be wrong. You could always call one of the COE field offices, there is one in Rogers and ask them. If there is a shutdown, you can still access the lake, just won't be able to use the COE ramps at the parks.
Dutch Posted December 21, 2018 Posted December 21, 2018 When they shut down last time they did not completely block the road to the ramps around here.
jdmidwest Posted December 22, 2018 Posted December 22, 2018 Its Christmas, they are all shut down and on vacation anyway. Probably have a hard time finding someone to put up barricades. Don't be skeered, its all a farce as usual. Mitch f 1 "Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously." — Hunter S. Thompson
Notropis Posted December 24, 2018 Posted December 24, 2018 If they close the COE ramps, you can still launch at the Hwy 12 bridge ramp since it's owned by the County or the 412 bridge ramp owned by the AGFC. Don't get me started on how lame it is for the COE to put barricades blocking the ramps, like they have in the past, hopefully they won't bother this time.
