No I didn't read it.  And Yes I realize that the GUESS is based on some alleged "scientific study method".  It always is.

That changes nothing.  It's innacurate by a long shot, and should actually be embarrassing to claim that it isn't.

That's just like  your opinion, man....

I would assume fish are like any creature living in the wild.  Especially since they are preyed upon and not just a predator.  Take for instance Quail and Pheasants, that can have a life span of 4 yrs. in captivity but in the wild 2 yrs.  From birth thru that period there is a 80% yearly mortality.  I'm sure rabbits fall into close to the same category.

During reproduction and Winter are stressful along with the loss of fry, it would seem a very reasonable number that at least 35% mortality would come from natural causes.  Really I would assume it would be much higher.

On another note, no shots fired this morning so I guess my hunters didn't make it out.

Bassmaster Pro talks about fish mortality on certain fisheries and claims Tournaments have no impact.

Nah !  He doesn't have an axe to grind here....not at all !  🤣

I agree with abk, the reason it is hard for me to catch fish is not my fault. Nature is against me. And there is at least one very productive cove that is restricted. I guess that is why it should be called casting instead of fishing. Sounds better too. “I went out today and made 1,200 casts.” Instead of “I went out today and caught 3 fish with 1 keeper.” At least now I know it is not just my ability. Nature is my foe.
