guys I must be doing something wrong with the A rig, I'm not a fan simply because I can't catch many black bass with it. I tried it on the reg. for a few years and at dif. times of the year w/o much luck really. Never have caught a black bass over 2 1/2 pound on the rig. I just went back to my usual gear. I'm that guy who can't catch nice bass with an A rig ! Obviously other anglers can but they won't bite my junk.

 I can catch a few walleye and hundreds of whites with it though!

Took me all of about 8 minutes to figure it out.   

It's far from my favorite way to fish .....until I get tired of trying (unsuccessfully) to make them bite "my way".   Then I'm suddenly all about it.

The first time I finally decided to tie one on I swung 21 pounds into the boat in under 3 hours.   That'll make a believer out of you right quick.   It taught me that I was indeed in the right spot....they just didn't wanna bite what I was throwing.

I reluctantly started using it this year after always hearing about how much people said it would wear you out throwing it all day. I haven’t caught a lot of fish with it, but considerably more than I believe I would normally catch during this time of year. It doesn’t really wear me out at all like I thought it was going to. I kinda like throwing it. Basically a GIANT and HEAVY spinnerbait. I throw it with braid and it is the only thing I have found so far that I like using braid for. It took me some time, but I am on team A-rig now. I definitely prefer it to fishing with a jerkbait (which I suck at).

Yeah 30 casts with an A-rig beats the heck out of 472 casts with a jerkbait.

I throw it on a 4000 size spinning reel and 50lb braid.  I have literally thrown it all day before with no ill effects, lol.

I’ve never seen anyone throwing it on spinning gear. 🤔🤔🤔

I've never see anyone ELSE throw it on spinning gear either.  It just makes sense, a little effort and it goes and goes.  I'm probably throwing a lighter rig than most people also.
