LOZ

Well duh!  😅

On it's way to the gulf so the eels can get a whiff of it.

Seriously though, the Niangua always falls out even faster than the Little Niangua does.

Does the little dam below Fiery Fork have anything to do with it @fishinwrench? I enjoy that float below Bannister, but darn there is some slow stuff.

It's not a dam, it's a low water whistle bridge.  Water goes through it, or over it just like the ones at Cedar camp and Howard Ford.

Throw a top-water bug along the weeds on those slow stretches and you'll quit cussing them. 😊

Well to me it is still up I was using one Rod with light 6 Pound Line, 3 Split Shot and Worm. Cast out and the current catch it and it was gone, reel back in same thing.

Won't hold long enough for a fish to find it.

I think you will do better covering water with a drifting bait than you will by anchoring it and waiting for a fish to notice it.  Trout are visual feeders, they notice everything that moves through the water. They don't primarily sniff out their food like a catfish.

I think you're just being lazy.  😋

True.  Otherwise you would never catch one on a fly or lure.

If I was fishing for Trout but Suckers have to have it setting for them to find it.

Gotta be a big hole holding suckers below a bridge or boat ramp nearby.
