So say the chatterbait experts. I've heard that too but disagree. I'm no "expert", but a split ring seems to let the blade vibrate slower. It's more of a wobble than a vibration, like a hot n tot vs a lipless bait. I use both kinds all the time and have not noticed a difference in how many fish I catch. I personally prefer the wider wobble. It thumps in the water better.
