trythisonemv Posted March 4, 2019 Posted March 4, 2019 Roaring weather to open march here in southwest Missouri! Looks like perfect white bass weather is right around the corner though. 60 degree temps moving on this weekend and warm rains with it. . Looks like night time temps jumping into forties as well which should get them running up the creek. Last year i had already gone once by now and was seeing small numbers of males. Probably be a little more like next week or the week after before we see any action this season. Just thought id get a thread going in anticipation! fishinwrench, Johnsfolly, laker67 and 3 others 6

bwcballer10 Posted March 4, 2019 Posted March 4, 2019 A buddy and I have a trip planned for Friday, as long as it doesn't rain. Hopefully there is some truth to that fish at the steel bridge rumor dirtrider. trythisonemv 1

The days are getting longer and it was fairly warm last week. They would be pushing up until the snap of cold hit.

Members ehertz Posted March 9, 2019 Members Posted March 9, 2019 Put in at Aldrich yesterday day and motored up to the iron bridge. Caught one really small male up there. This was more of a test of our new boat. But we did fish quite a bit. Didn't see anyone else catching. Water temp in the lake was 39-40 and 41-42 up river. BilletHead and Daryk Campbell Sr 1 1
bwcballer10 Posted March 9, 2019 Posted March 9, 2019 Put in at Orleans yesterday and fished all the way to the old bridge pillars below aldrich. I am shocked at those water temps ehertz... I stuck my hand in the water and it felt COLD, and the fish we caught felt COLD. We caught 4 little males in the cove by the old bridge pillars. As we were headed back to the truck 2 guys stopped us at the top of the long eddy below Orleans and said they had just caught a bunch in the last 30 minutes. So we stopped and ended up with 20 keepers in the last 45 minutes of light, threw back just as many dinks. The guys that stopped us said their graph was lit up with whites. Thank you very much to these kind gentleman because they even told us what color they were using. We had a blast and now hopefully this warm rain is gonna make them go crazy!
