Lifes2Short Posted April 2, 2019 Posted April 2, 2019 Put in both mornings at Roark and stayed exclusively in the Suns Creek area. Ended up yesterday with about 15 bass the biggest being 3.8. Most of the bass yesterday came on a spinner bait and jerk bait, the spinnerbait fish came out of 3 feet of water or less and the jerkbait fish were on main lake points. Today there were a few caught on the spinner bait again but the vast majority of the bass today, 22 total, came on the jig in 5 to 10 feet of water. Today we had strong westerly winds which I think really helped with getting the bass active. Water temps pretty much everywhere I went were 48 to 51°, the previous two nights cold overnight lows really took the water temps back down again. Tight Lines! P.S. The ticks are out! Dutch Posted April 3, 2019 Posted April 3, 2019 Nice. I should have been chasing the blacks instead of the whites.
liphunter Posted April 3, 2019 Posted April 3, 2019 I got to give a shout out to Lifes2Short. Fished all day in the wind. Nothing to get excited about as far as catching fish. I had caught six Spots, and LM, and even though a couple were close, none measured. Water somewhat stained. Less as you went west and north of CC bridge at Greenfield. I seen water temps from 53.0 to late on the day in the back of a cove I seen 58.3 . Anyway, I had about 30 mins until quitting time. Took a break and looked at my phone. I seen Lifes2Shorts post. Just had not considered a spinner bait today? But I knew I had one tied on in the rod box and thought what the heck. So with 30 mins to go. 45 mins later I had caught a 13 inch spot, a 14 & 17 LM. None of them were in more than a couple feet of water when they bit. Thanks for sharing... Not to exciting for most people, but it made me smile. snagged in outlet 3, BilletHead, crappie-hunter and 4 others 5 2 Luck is where preparation meets opportunity...... Or you could just flip a coin???

5bites Posted April 4, 2019 Posted April 4, 2019 If the ticks are swimming to the boat I’m gonna think about going to grand tomorrow instead.
Walcrabass Posted April 4, 2019 Posted April 4, 2019 Lifes2short, Thanks for your post. Always appreciate your honesty. If those Kentuckies measure 12" please remember that they are legal on Stockton now and take them for a ride to the frying pan. Walcrabass
Lifes2Short Posted April 4, 2019 Author Posted April 4, 2019 I’ve yet to catch a Kentucky this year but I can promise you any of them over 12” are going for a boat ride! Tight Lines! 😁
