snagged in outlet 3 Posted May 7, 2019 Posted May 7, 2019 I grew up by Bob Chandler and while we weren't personal friends we all hung out in the same area. Primarily Flat River, Lesterville and a place called the sugar bowl. We rolled in a 76 K5 Blazer and we were really into 3 wheelers back then too. Here's an interesting article that brought back memories. https://www.msn.com/en-us/autos/enthusiasts/the-original-bigfoot-monster-truck-is-getting-the-restoration-it-deserves/ar-AAAZn35?li=BBnb4R5 Daryk Campbell Sr 1

I'm not a Ford guy.....but a buddy from high school had that very same truck and it was a beast in the mud. Light front end, and geared perfectly. I had a '68 Chevy CST with a big block 396 and he pulled me out of the bogs more than once.
snagged in outlet 3 Posted September 8, 2019 Author Posted September 8, 2019 My grandpa worked at the vette plant for 30. I put in 15 years on the line at GM so...... fishinwrench and Daryk Campbell Sr 2
fishinwrench Posted December 14, 2019 Posted December 14, 2019 Do we really not have a good Chevy technician among us here? My 04 Tahoe has a mental disorder. Sporadically does things on it's own that it shouldn't be doing. Yesterday it locked me out while the engine was running. If that had happened down on the river or at a boat ramp I would have been screwed. I assume that the body control module is failing but I'd rather pay somebody else to deal with it than to attempt it's diagnosis and repair on my own. The Chevy shops around here are a bunch of crackheads so taking it to one of them is not an option.

I've owned a bunch of Chevy (GM) trucks since I worked there. And all my coworkers too. Every one of them had screwy stuff go on after a 100k miles. My last Yukon Denali was the last straw. The engine will run forever but the rest of it was a hassle. The engine light on that vehicle cycled on and off every month. Gets on your nerves driving back from the White on Sunday knowing if it quit you were stranded till Monday at least.

Well I could, but the value for the dollar is unacceptable IMO. The day they decided to incorporate body control computers into vehicles was the day I gave up. All this locking of doors, deciding how far I want the windows rolled down, and when to turn the lights on and off, and ect....... Really pisses me off. If I'm gonna be the captain of this goddam ship then I wanna have control of these things! snagged in outlet 3 and Daryk Campbell Sr 2

fishinwrench Posted December 14, 2019 Posted December 14, 2019 Surely there's a way to disable/bypass this stupid control module.....but I'm betting that once bypassed you have no heat, A/C, and probably can't even use the windshield wipers. It's so frustrating 😫 At least give us a portal to select the settings. "Would you like your doors to lock automatically?" NO "Would you like your windows to stop going down when you release the switch?" YES "Would you prefer to manually turn running lights on/off?" YES "Would you like to be heavily reprimanded for neglecting to fasten safety belt?" NO "Would you like the stereo, dome, and headlights to stay on for 20 minutes after shutting off and exiting the vehicle?" NO!!! "When the key is in the ignition would you like to NOT be able to lock the driver's side door?" YES!!! I mean c'mon, at least make it user friendly. laker67 and snagged in outlet 3 2
jdmidwest Posted December 15, 2019 Posted December 15, 2019 Find the wires and cut out the sensors, wire them together. Its just DC circuits. "Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously." — Hunter S. Thompson
