MOPanfisher Posted June 4, 2019 Posted June 4, 2019 Wind plays a factor sometimea. Otherwise with a large inflow it isn't uncommon to have a somewhat higher level on the upper end. But haven't had any new inflows lately?
fishinwrench Posted June 4, 2019 Posted June 4, 2019 I know that on my stretch of LO, only 17 miles from the dam, the water level on the upper end of the Gravois arm will go up and down repeatedly as they are steadily realeasing water. Never really understood the why's and how's of that. There is an old bridge deck just underwater and if you're up there you'll see the deck sticking out then submerged....then sticking out again, over and over. It is a fluctuation of 6-8 inches almost like miniature tidal surges.

There was someone on truman board saying the Corp encouraged people to pick up limbs on Corp ground to help keep it clean...... Any one want to take this one...

Members Cal2 Posted June 7, 2019 Members Posted June 7, 2019 Just seen this on the Pomme Corps page...………."This morning Pomme de Terre Lake is at 864.40 and slowly rising. With no additional rainfall across the basin, we are expected to crest at 864.47. Should the Pomme de Terre drainage basin receive a significant rain the lake will rise more quickly, depending upon the amount of rainfall. Pomme de Terre Lake level will not begin to recede until certain events occur: 1) The Missouri River Level drops to a level that will allow Truman lake to begin significant releases, 2) Truman Lake is able to maintain releases and lower their lake level enough to clear the Truman Lake backwater from the Pomme de Terre River at Hermitage. Current forecasts show that Pomme de Terre Lake might be able to begin increasing releases as early as June 15, however that date is only a long term forecast and will likely change with time depending upon the conditions within the Osage and Missouri basins."
Gumboot Posted June 10, 2019 Posted June 10, 2019 There's a lot of water under the hermitage bridge, and it's not coming from Pomme releases. At normal pool lake is 839 and covers 7820 acres, full pool is 874 and the area is 16,000 acres, simple math says that at 864 lake area is about 13,660 acres. Had a bunch of honey do's this weekend, but caught 4 early yesterday morning wading thru the woods flipping a frog. Decided to go mow grass after the second snake encounter. MrGiggles 1
MOPanfisher Posted June 10, 2019 Posted June 10, 2019 All that water in the Pomme River is back water from Truman. We just keep holding and waiting to either be able to release or to set a new record. Creeping ever closer to a new record. Only a few more inches to go.
Gumboot Posted June 13, 2019 Posted June 13, 2019 Pomme D Terr 839.0 864.44 50 864.45 50 864.46 50 864.47 3000 WooooHoooo... Cal2 1
